A deep spiritual walk with God does not usually happen immediately after conversion. When the
Holy Spirit invades the enemy territory of our lives and sets up Jesus Christ as King in the capital
city of our heart, his strategy for conquering the rebel forces of the flesh that keep up their guerrilla
warfare is different for each person. It may be fast or slow. God's clean up operations are very
strange. - John Piper

Missionary Prayer Matters
Bill and Sandra Callister (PNG, DPG Day 13) praise God for protection from flooding at the Alotau
Centre, and for a good spirit amongst those living there, in spite of boat and vehicle breakdowns.
Pray for Bill and Sandra as they prepare with other staff members for the VITAL translation course
that begins next week for a month, with 11 represented languages working on Genesis selections.
Peter and Esther (Special Areas, DPG Day 20) would appreciate prayer for Nius's sister whose sec-
ond husband died suddenly. Pray that someone can support or sponsor her children. Pray for a 7-
year old boy with severe oil burns, and pray for an 8-year old boy who is terribly handicapped from
being burned two years ago. Pray that Peter will be able to extend Miriam's tourist visa before the
whole family renew their visas in November. Praise God that Kasih, a little girl with severe cleft lip
and palate, will be travelling to Adelaide this week for surgery.
Byron and Lyn Johannesen (Colombia, DPG Day 26) would like prayer for the quick resolution of a
recent incident when an armoured car ran into Alissa's car. The company repeatedly wanted Alissa to
make a false statement, which she of course has refused to do. Pray for Fanny and Luis as Luis may
be mixing with bad company. Pray that he will make wise life choices. Pray for Javier and Luz Maria
as they consider future employment, after selling their caf last Tuesday.
