Read 1 Sa 13.16-23

The people were oppressed.
Whenever they wanted to move forward(upward) they would find opposition.
Opposition by an enemy who had better weapons and more soldiers.

We want to move forward
Always find opposition (b/c the enemy had better weapons)
The enemy allowed them to be comfortable and exist but not be able to fight
He kept us in fear by giving up on our dreams and kept us existing with drugs for just one more day

Now they were at a stand still

They had a dream/promise from God yet they were going nowhere.
Saul and 600 men sitting under a tree and chillin
Saul acting like a judge and not like a king
- Fear can take you back to what you know
- Because what you know worked for you
But DONT DO IT! Because you will only live a comfortable live not a conquering life!

But ENTER A FEW GOOD MEN! Read 1 Sa 14.1-23

What will it take to build momentum for your life and/or the ranch?

One day (out of the blue) Jonathan and his armor bearer got up and started moving forward.
- They were looking around at his father
- Looking at the BEST soldiers that Israel had to offer (600 from 3000 who werent scared)
- And he got sick and tired of seeing GODS COVENANT PEOPLE sitting around doing nothing
o Bringing shame to God, the enemies were mocking (14.11)

1) Dont be satisfied with the little, the common, or the normal
a. Get to know God and His promises
i. Ro12.2 Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the
renewing of your mind, that you may PROVE what is that good and acceptable
and perfect will of God
ii. Dt28.13 And the Lord will make you the head and not the tail; you shall be
above only, and not be beneath
b. Dream Big
i. Eph3.20 - Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly, abundantly, above all else
that we could ever ask or imagine
ii. Lk1.37 - With God NOTHING will be IMPOSSIBLE


2) Dont do it ALONE He took his armor bearer
a. Partner in Battle
b. Encourager Kept him moving up
c. Not only carried his armor but his heart
3) Dont HOLD BACK GO HARD OR GO HOME, GO BIG OR GO TO BED
a. Once there was confirmation that the Lord had sent him, He looked the enemy in the
eye and moved on up
b. He was on all fours did whatever it took to get to the enemy
i. Sometimes itll take us being prostrate before the Lord
ii. The battle is truly in the hidden realm of the spirit (Michmash Hidden/secret
place)
4) Start SMALL
a. perhaps the Lord will help us
i. He wasnt totally confident if this was Gods perfect will
ii. That he be used to confuse the enemy, but he had a general cause and acted on
FAITH! In a general promise Isaiah 54:2-3
1. His uncertainty became certainty (from perhaps to Come Up v12)
2. From a small faith in the Gods goodness, he was able to move into the
offensive
