Teacher Education 1

I. Course Description
This course deals with the nature and conditions of the work of a teacher. It also
includes the adequate orientation of the teacher, his characteristics and aptitudes,
his economic status, his personal and professional opportunities and his duties
and responsibilities.

Three (3)

III. Objectives
1. To gain a perspective of the institutions of public and private education in
our society.
2. To know some insights into the contribution of educational theorists to the
evolution of the educational system, the relation of the school to society, child
center relationships, the nature of the works of the various school units, the
relation of the teacher and the community and finally problems associated
with the evaluating of teaching and learning.
3. To discuss issues about professional needs of teachers that will determine the
success of her work.
