Lintensa azione di ricerca e sperimentazione per lo sviluppo di nuovi prodotti e soluzioni ceramiche, che
caratterizza, da sempre, la filosofia aziendale di Calsalgrande Padana, si manifesta chiaramente in questo
numero di Percorsi in Ceramica, dove vengono presentate tre nuove proposte: Pietre di Sardegna,
Metalwood e Venezia. La nuova serie Pietre di Sardegna viene ad arricchire la gi ampia offerta della
linea Pietre Native. Si tratta di una collezione in grs porcellanato, dove la struttura, la granulometria, le
venature, i cromatismi e le finiture ripropongono le stesse caratteristiche dei materiali lapidei di
riferimento, ma con livelli prestazionali addirittura superiori a quelli presenti in natura.
La ricca proposta cromatica, le due finiture e i cinque formati consentono innumerevoli abbinamenti
compositivi, sia nelle pavimentazioni che nei rivestimenti. La serie Metalwood inaugura, invece, la nuova
linea Granitoker, composta da grs porcellanato smaltato di ultima generazione.
Caratterizzata dalla particolare lavorazione metallizzata dello strato di finitura, la superficie di queste
piastrelle richiama al tatto la trama materica del legno. Un effetto decorativo moderno, decisamente
orientato al design degli spazi abitativi contemporanei, proposto in cinque varianti di colore, che vanno
dallargento alliridio al piombo al silicio al bronzo. Infine, la serie Venezia, che allarga ulteriormente la
gamma della Linea Monopadana, composta da piastrelle in monocottura smaltata a pasta bianca,
caratterizzate da elevate prestazioni tecniche associate a notevoli doti estetiche. La nuova proposta
interpreta perfettamente il gusto contemporaneo: lo strato materico della superficie smaltata, che
riprende leffetto leggermente sabbiato di antichi trattamenti decorativi, rivisitato in chiave moderna,
fornendo una sensazione di morbidezza e di calore che contrasta con la durezza e linalterabilit della
superficie della piastrella. Qualit tecnica e ricerca estetica, comfort e prestigio: ancora una volta
requisiti fondamentali e irrinunciabili per Casalgrande Padana.

The experimentation and intensive research into
the development of new products and ceramic
materials that has always been at the core of
Casalgrande Padanas business philosophy, has
been clearly highlighted in this issue of Ceramic
Tile Routes, which presents three new proposals:
Pietre di Sardegna, Metalwood and Venezia.
The new Pietre di Sardegna series adds to the
already comprehensive range of products in the
Pietre Native line. Its a collection of refined porce-
lain stoneware, where the structure, grain size,
veining, colour shades and finishes possess the
same characteristics as the stone material from
which the product takes its name, but with per-
formance levels that are actually superior to those
present in nature. The rich range of colours, the two
finishes and five formats allow numberless compo-
sitions to be achieved for both floors and walls.
The Metalwood series inaugurates the new
Granitoker line of latest generation glazed porce-
lain stoneware. Characterized by a particular metal-
lizing process for the finishing layer, the surface
texture of these tiles resembles wood to the touch.
This modern, decidedly design-oriented decorative
effect for contemporary living areas is proposed in
five different colours, ranging fromsilver to iridium,
lead, silicon and bronze.
Lastly, the Venezia series adds to the Monopadana
Line and comprises glazed, white body single-fired
tiles possessing high technical performances along
with a very attractive finish. The new proposal
interprets contemporary tastes in a perfect way:
the textured layer of the glazed surface resembles
the slightly sandy effect obtained by the decorative
treatments of bygone ages but has been given a
modern look with a sensation of softness and
warmth that contrasts with the hardness and hard-
wearing properties of the tile surface.
Technical quality, comfort and prestige, plus
research into the design aspects are and continue
to be fundamental and essential requisites for
Casalgrande Padana.

Laction intense de recherche et dexprimentation
pour le dveloppement de nouveaux projets et de
nouvelles solutions cramiques qui caractrise
depuis toujours la philosophie entrepreneuriale de
Casalgrande Padana, se manifeste clairement dans
ce numro de Percorsi in Ceramica , o sont
prsentes les trois dernires propositions : Pietre
di Sardegna, Metalwood et Venezia.
La nouvelle srie Pietre di Sardegna est enrichis-
sement dune gamme dj ample offerte par la
ligne Pietre Native. Il sagit dune collection en grs
crame o la structure, la granulomtrie, les veines,
les chromatismes, et les finitions reprennent les
mmes caractristiques des pierres naturelles de
rfrence, tandis que les niveaux performanciels
sont mme suprieurs aux matriaux prsents dans
la nature. Une proposition chromatique abondante,
deux finitions et cinq formats permettent de crer
dinnombrables compositions, aussi bien pour les
revtements de sols que de murs. Par contre la
srie Metalwood inaugure la nouvelle ligne
Granitoker, compose de grs crame maill de
dernire gnration. Caractrise par une excu-
tion mtallise particulire de sa couche de finition,
la surface de ces carreaux nous rappelle au toucher
la texture du bois. Un effet dcoratif moderne, fran-
chement orient au design des espaces dhabita-
tion contemporains, propos en cinq variantes de
coloris, allant de largent liridium, du plomb au
silicium et au bronze. Enfin, la srie Venezia, qui
vient agrandir la gamme de la Ligne Monopadana
est compose de carreaux en monocuisson
maille pte blanche, caractriss par des per-
formances techniques leves associes des
atouts esthtiques considrables. La nouvelle pro-
position interprte parfaitement le got contempo-
rain : la couche de matire de la surface maille,
qui reprend leffet lgrement sabl des traite-
ments encaustiques lancienne, est revisite dans
une perspective moderne, et elle fournit une dli-
cate sensation de douceur qui contraste avec la
duret et linaltrabilit de la surface du carreau.
Qualit technique et recherche esthtique, confort
et prestige : encore des conditions fondamentales
auxquelles Casalgrande Padana ne peut renoncer.

Die intensive Forschungs- und Experimentierttigkeit
zur Entwicklung neuer Produkte und Lsungen aus
Keramik, die seit jeher die Unternehmensphilosophie
von Casalgrande Padana kennzeichnet, erkennt man
ganz deutlich in diesem Heft von Percorsi in
Ceramica, in dem drei neue Vorschlge vorgestellt
werden: Pietre di Sardegna, Metalwood und
Venezia. Die neue Serie Pietre di Sardegna berei-
chert das schon umfangreiche Angebot der
Fliesenlinie Pietre Native. Es handelt sich um eine
Kollektion aus Feinsteinzeug, wo die Struktur, die
Korngre, die Maserungen, die Chromatismen und
die Oberflchenbeschaffenheiten die gleichen
Eigenschaften der Natursteine aufweisen, auf die
sie Bezug nehmen, whrend die Leistungen sogar
ein noch hheres Niveau aufweisen, als es bei den
in der Natur vorgefundenen Materialien blich ist.
Der reiche chromatische Vorschlag, die beiden
Oberflchenvarianten und die fnf Formate gestat-
ten zahlreiche Kombinationsmglichkeiten, sowohl
bei den Bodenbelgen als auch den
Wandverkleidungen. Die Serie Metalwood fhrt
dagegen die neue Linie Granitoker ein, die aus gla-
siertem Feinsteinzeug der neuesten Generation
besteht. Sie ist durch die besondere Verarbeitung mit
Metallic-Look der Oberflche charakterisiert. Die
Oberflche dieser Fliesen erinnert beim Anfassen
vage an die Beschaffenheit von Holz. Ein moderner
dekorativer Effekt, der entschieden auf das Design
von zeitgenssischen Wohnumgebungen orientiert
ist. Die Fliesen werden in fnf Farbvarianten vorge-
schlagen, die vomIridiumzumBlei und vomSilizium
zur Bronze gehen. Schlielich die Serie Venezia, mit
der die Fliesenpalette der Linie Monopadana weiter
ausgebaut wird. Diese Fliesen bestehen aus glasier-
ter Einbrandware auf weiem Scherben, die sich
durch hohe technische Leistungen auszeichnen und
durch bewerkenswerte sthetische Vorzge beglei-
tet werden. Der neue Vorschlag ist die perfekte
Interpretation des zeitgenssischen Geschmacks:
die texturierte Schicht der glasierten Oberflche, die
leicht an das sandgestrahlte Aussehen antiker
Dekorbehandlungen erinnert, wird mit modernem
Schlssel wieder aufgenommen und bietet das
Gefhl der Weichheit und der Farbe, das mit der
Hrte und Unvernderlichkeit der Fliesenoberflche
in Kontrast steht. Technische Qualitt und stheti-
sche Forschung, Komfort und Prestige: noch einmal
grundlegende und unverzichtbare Anforderungen fr
Casalgrande Padana.

Con la nuova serie Pietre di Sardegna, continua lintensa azione di ricerca e sperimenta-
zione che caratterizza gli elementi ceramici a elevato contenuto tecnico ed estetico della
linea Pietre Native. Materiali ottenuti con la pi avanzata tecnologia applicata al grs por-
cellanato pienamente vetrificato, che ripresentano le qualit estetiche e funzionali delle
pietre naturali. Struttura a tutta massa, granulometrie, venature, cromatismi, matericit e
finiture superficiali ripropongono le stesse caratteristiche dei materiali lapidei di riferi-
mento, mentre i livelli prestazionali risultano addirittura superiori a quelli presenti in natu-
ra. Anche la nuova serie Pietre di Sardegna si basa su questi contenuti innovativi, presen-
tando una collezione versatile di piastrelle ceramiche in grs porcellanato pienamente
vetrificato, che consentono ampie possibilit compositive. Scaturita da un approfondito
studio progettuale, materico e formale, finalizzato a ottenere un effetto naturale, la serie
Pietre di Sardegna si esprime a livello cromatico con sei morbide colorazioni, in grado di
generare atmosfere di grande fascino. I colori vanno dal bianco lievemente screziato (Porto
Rotondo) al beige sabbia, movimentato da striature e piccole inclusioni pi chiare (Porto
Cervo), al caldo impasto rosso della trachite venata (Stintino), fino alle tre tonalit materi-
che di grigio: chiaro, delicatamente sfumato (Punta Molara), medio, screziato di tonalit
calde (Cala Luna), e antracite, segnato con venature e piccole inclusioni pi chiare e pi
scure (Tavolara). La ricchezza della proposta cromatica ulteriormente ampliata dalla
disponibilit di due finiture (naturale e lappata) e cinque formati modulari rettificati (cm
15x15, 30x30, 15x60, 30x60 e 45x45), a cui si aggiungono i pezzi speciali e i decori con
fasce, piastrelle fresate a mosaico e listelli montati sfalsati su rete, che consentono nume-
rosi abbinamenti compositivi, sia nelle pavimentazioni che nei rivestimenti. La qualit del
materiale e loriginalit del design offrono al progettista notevoli possibilit espressive,
permettendo di realizzare soluzioni applicative personalizzate. Caratterizzate da elevate
prestazioni di resistenza allusura, allurto, allo scivolamento (con coefficiente R10 per la
superficie naturale), alle macchie e agli sbalzi di temperatura, queste lastre, sempre diver-
se luna dallaltra, trovano impiego nelle pavimentazioni e nei rivestimenti interni ed ester-
ni, anche in applicazioni particolari. Le tipologie dintervento spaziano dalledilizia residen-

The new Pietre di Sardegna series continues the intensive research and experimentation
work that characterizes the ceramic tiles of the Pietre Native line, with their high-grade
technical features and appearance. Materials obtained with the most avant-garde tech-
nology applied to fully vitrified refined porcelain stoneware, that possess the aspect and
functional qualities of natural stone. Full-bodied structure, grain sizes, veining, chromatic
shading, textures and surface finishes feature the same characteristics as the stone mate-
rials from which the series takes its name, while the performance levels are even superior
to those in nature. The new Pietre di Sardegna series is also based on these innovative fea-
tures. It is available in a versatile collection of ceramic tiles made of fully vitrified porce-
lain stoneware, which can be mixed and matched to form lots of different compositions.
Resulted from an exhaustive research into both textural and formal aspects with a view to
obtaining a natural effect, the Pietre di Sardegna series is available in six softly coloured
shades able to create fascinating atmospheres. The tones range from slightly speckled
white (Porto Rotondo) to sandy beige enlivened by streaks and little inclusions of a lighter
colour (Porto Cervo) through to the warm red hue of veined trachyte (Stintino) and three tex-
tured shades of grey: light and delicately shaded (Punta Molara), medium and speckled
with warm tones (Cala Luna), and anthracite, streaked with veining and tiny lighter and
darker inclusions (Tavolara). This rich array of colour proposals becomes even wider thanks
to the two finishes (matt and lapped) and five modular ground formats available (cm 15x15,
cm 30x30, cm 15x60, cm 30x60 and cm 45x45), plus the special tiles and decorative band-
ed pieces, milled mosaic tiles and strips applied in a staggered fashion to netting, so as to
achieve lots of compositions on both floors and walls. Thanks to the quality of the materi-
als and their original appearance, designers can give vent to their creative flair and create
personalized room settings characterized by high performances when it comes to resist-
ance to wear, shocks, slipping (with anti-slip factor R10 for the matt version), stains and
temperature variations. These tiles, one never the same as the other, are ideal for floors
and walls both indoors and out of doors and even for special applications. They can be used
in numberless ways, from residential constructions to vast shopping areas, public building
to urban furnishing through to the most demanding modern architectural constructions plus
renovating and restoration work in existing buildings.

nouvelle srie Pietre di Sardegna. Matriaux obtenus avec la toute dernire technologie
de pointe, applique au grs crame pleinement vitrifi, qui reprsentent les qualits
esthtiques et fonctionnelles des pierres naturelles. Structure pleine masse , gra-
nulomtrie, veines, chromatismes, texture et finitions de surface qui proposent les
mmes caractristiques que les pierres naturelles de rfrence, tandis que les niveaux
performanciels sont mme suprieurs aux matriaux prsents dans la nature. Mme la
nouvelle srie Pietre di Sardegna adopte ces contenus novateurs, en prsentant une col-
lection polyvalente de carreaux cramiques en grs crame pleinement vitrifi, qui ouv-
rent damples possibilits de composition. Ne dune tude approfondie de projet, tex-
tural et formel, visant obtenir un effet naturel, la srie Pietre di Sardegna est dcline
au niveau chromatique en six couleurs douces, capables de produire des atmosphres
pleines de charme. Les couleurs vont du blanc lgrement jasp (Porto Rotondo) au beige
sable, rythm par des veines et de petites inclusions plus claires (Porto Cervo), au chaud

Mit der neuen Serie Pietre di Sardegna wurde die intensive Entwicklungs- und
Experimentieraktion fortgesetzt, die kennzeichnend fr die keramischen Elemente mit
hohem technischen und sthetischen Gehalt der Linie Pietre Native sind. Es sind
Materialien, die mit der fortschrittlichsten, bei durchgesintertem Feinsteinzeug ange-
wendeten Technologie erhalten werden, und die sthetischen und funktionellen Vorzge
der Natursteine aufweisen. In der Masse durchgefrbte und fein aufbereitete Struktur,
Krnung, Maserungen, Chromatismen, Textur und Oberflchenbeschaffenheiten, das
sind die gleichen Eigenschaften, die beim Naturstein vorliegen, die zum Bezug genom-
men werden, whrend die Leistungen sogar ein noch hheres Niveau aufweisen, als es
bei den in der Natur vorgefundenen Materialien blich ist. Auch die neue Serie Pietre di
Sardegna basiert auf diesen innovativen Inhalten und stellt eine vielseitige Kollektion
aus vollkommen durchgesinterten Feinsteinzeugplatten dar, die dem Planer unzhlige
Gestaltungsmglichkeiten bietet.
Aus einer eingehenden Projektstudie entstanden, die sich sowohl mit der Textur als auch
mit dem Formalen befasste und darauf abzielte, eine natrliche Wirkung zu erhalten,
drcken die Fliesen der Serie Pietre di Sardegna sich auf chromatischem Niveau mit
sechs weichen Farbstellungen aus, die in der Lage sind, Atmosphren mit groem Reiz
entstehen zu lassen.
Die Farben gehen vom leicht melierten Wei (Porto Rotondo) zum sandfarbigen Beige,
das durch Streifen und kleine hellere Einschlsse belebt wird (Porto Cervo), zur rotwar-
men Mischung des gemaserten Trachyts (Stintino), bis zu den drei texturierten
Grautonalitten: zart nuanciertes Hellgrau (Punta Molara), Mittelgrau, mit warmen
Tonalitten meliert (Cala Luna), und Anthrazitgrau, durch Maserungen und kleine mal hel-
lere, mal dunklere Einschlssen gekennzeichnet (Tavolara). Der reichhaltige chromati-
sche Vorschlag wird durch die Lieferbarkeit von zwei Obenflchenbeschaffenheiten
(naturbelassen und poliert) und fnf geschliffene modulare Formate (15x15 cm, 30x30
cm, 15x60 cm, 30x60 cm und 45x45 cm) noch weiter vervollstndigt.
Dazu kommen noch Formstcke und Dekorteile mit Bordren, mosaikartig gefrste
Fliesen und versetzt auf Netze montierte Listelli hinzu, die sowohl bei Bodenbelgen als
auch Wandverkleidungen unzhlige Gestaltungsmglichkeiten bieten.
Die Qualitt des Materials und die Originalitt des Designs bieten dem Planer bemer-
kenswerte Ausdrucksmglichkeiten und gestatten die Realisierung personalisierter

porcellanato smaltato di ultima generazione. Ottenuti attraverso sofisticati processi di
produzione e avanzate ricerche in ambito tecnologico, cromatico e decorativo, gli ele-
menti ceramici della serie Metalwood, la prima a essere realizzata, presentano elevate
prestazioni tecniche associate a inedite soluzioni estetiche. Colorato nella massa con le
stesse tonalit della superficie, questo grs porcellanato smaltato si caratterizza per la
particolare lavorazione metallizzata dello strato di finitura, che richiama al tatto la trama

production processes and advanced technological, chromatic and decorative research,
the first to be created the ceramic tiles in the Metalwood series, possess high technical
performances in conjunction with ultra-new solutions when it comes to texture and
appearance. Coloured in the body in the same shades as the surface, this glazed porce-
lain stoneware product is subjected to a particular metallizing process in the finishing
layer, which resembles the texture of wood to the touch. A modern decorative effect with
decidedly design-conscious undertones when it comes to contemporary living areas. The
series is proposed in five colour variants, which range from silver to iridium, through to
lead, silicon and bronze. The combination between the wood-like veining patterning in
relief and the metallic brilliance of the surface finish is not intended as a direct reference
to the two materials (wood and metal) but rather defines a sort of new chromatic tex-

Die neue Linie Granitoker von Casalgrande Padana stellt die Synthese der innovativen
Inhalte des glasierten Feinsteinzeugs der letzten Generation dar. Als das Resultat aus-
gereifter Produktionsverfahren und moderner Forschung im technologischen, chromati-
schen und dekorativen Bereich weisen die Keramikelemente der Serie Metalwood als
erste, die realisiert wurde, hohe technische Leistungen und absolut neuartige stheti-
sche Lsungen auf. In der Masse mit der gleichen Tonalitt der Plattenoberflche durch-
gefrbt, zeichnet sich dieses glasierte Feinsteinzeug durch den besonderen Metallic-
Effekt der Oberflchenschicht aus, die sich vom Gefge her fast wie Holz anfasst. Ein
Dekor mit modernem Look, mit entschiedener Orientierung auf das Design der zeitge-
nssischen Wohnrume, das in fnf Farbvarianten vorgeschlagen wird, vom Silber zum
Iridium, vom Blei zum Silizium und zur Bronze gehend. Die Kombination zwischen den

Frutto di una lunga tradizione ceramica, che si rinnova continuamente per offrire qualit,
comfort e prestigio, la Linea Monopadana composta da piastrelle in monocottura smal-
tata a pasta bianca, caratterizzate da elevate prestazioni tecniche associate a notevoli
doti estetiche. Anche la serie Venezia, recentemente entrata in produzione, interpreta
perfettamente questa impostazione attraverso un prodotto di gusto contemporaneo, che
scaturisce da avanzate ricerche tecniche e cromatiche. Elemento qualificante della nuova
collezione lo strato materico della superficie smaltata, che riprende leffetto legger-
mente sabbiato degli antichi trattamenti a encausto, rivisitato in chiave moderna. La sen-
sazione di morbidezza e di calore che d questa finitura leggermente stonalizzata con-
trasta con la durezza e linalterabilit della superficie della piastrella, determinandone la
particolarit. Ulteriori arricchimenti sul piano estetico e compositivo sono definiti dal-
lapprofondito studio cromatico, che propone otto morbide tonalit che vanno dal bianco

State-of-the-art of a long tradition in the field of ceramic production, a sector that is con-
tinually progressing in the endeavour to provide quality, comfort and prestige, the
Monopadana Line comprises glazed, white-body single-fired tiles featuring high techni-
cal performances in conjunction with an extremely attractive appearance. Also the
Venezia series, which has recently become part of the production range, is a perfect
interpreter of this philosophy as it is a product for contemporary tastes resulting from
advanced research into the technical and chromatic aspects of the material. The textured
glazed surface layer is a qualifying part of the new collection. It resembles the slightly
sanded effect obtained by the ancient encaustic treatments but re-vamped to suit mod-
ern preferences. The sensation of softness and warmth provided by this slightly shaded
finish contrasts with the hardness and unalterable features of the tile surface and deter-
mines its peculiarity. But deep studies into the chromatic effects have enriched this
series even further as to appearance and the many different compositions that can be
achieved. The tiles are available in eight soft tones ranging from white (San Marco),
through to sand (Lido), ochre (Giudecca), fawn (Torcello), scorched earth (San Giorgio),
antique pink (Murano) and two shades of grey: medium (Canal Grande) and anthracite
(Rialto).
The tiles are produced in the classic 33.3x33.3 cm format and are complete with deco-
rated and special pieces. The Venezia series is ideal for the most varied projects, espe-
cially when it comes to residential building where designers can express all their creative
flair in any room setting.

Qualifizierendes Element der neuen Kollektion ist die strukturierte Schicht auf der gla-
sierten Oberflche, die das leicht sandgestrahlte Aussehen der antiken Enkaustiktechnik
annimmt, natrlich in moderne Optik bersetzt. Das Gefhl der Weichheit und der
Wrme, das diese leicht schattierte Oberflche dem Belag verleiht, steht im Gegensatz
zu der Hrte und der Unvernderlichkeit der Fliesenoberflche, was ihre Besonderheit
ausmacht. Weitere Bereicherungen auf dem sthetischen und gestalterischen Bereich
ergeben sich durch die eingehende Chromatikstudie, die acht weiche Tonalitten auf-
weist, die vom Wei (San Marco) ber Sand (Lido), Ockergelb (Giudecca),
Haselnussbraun (Torcello), gebrannte Erde (San Giorgio) und Antikrosa (Murano) bis zu

Creative Book interpreta concretamente linteresse e la sensibilit di Casalgrande Padana per le tematiche riferite
allarchitettura e al design, in una logica di costante e dinamica collaborazione con il mondo del progetto.
Nata per presentare e illustrare i progetti vincitori e selezionati del concorso Gran Prix, questa pubblicazione diventata
col tempo un vero e proprio strumento di lavoro per il progettista, al quale fornisce informazioni, esempi, soluzioni e spunti
di riflessione sulle potenzialit espressive e applicative dei grs porcellanato in architettura.
Essenzialmente pensato per larchitetto, lingegnere, il designer, il responsabile tecnico ecc., questo progetto editoriale,
nelle ultime tre edizioni, stato realizzato insieme alla rivista internazionale di architettura Casabella. Una scelta che
