Introduction
First of all, domestic violence its not just about the physical abuse it also
can be sexual, emotional and financial abuse. Most of this kind of violence
happens on the relationships.
The cycle of violence has 3 different stages: Creation of tension in the relationship,
the act of violence and the loving stage.
In my case I want to have knowledge of the real reasons for the domestic violence
to happen, because its a huge problem everywhere and also because they are
laws that dont agree with this to occur.
What are the main reasons for domestic violence?
In the act of domestic violence it has to be a victim or victims and a
perpetrator, when it becomes to domestic violence the perpetrator almost always
have a reason for it such as: manipulation, authoritarianism, irresponsibility and
more.
The perpetrator needs to have a reason for violence, some of them have been
abused before and they think that it is the better way to end up something or they
just like to get the things the easy way, most of the cases in Mexico for domestic
abuse are related to the sexual part.
But in Mexico and US they are laws to stop domestic violence; for example in US
theres a Federal Domestic Violence Legislation with some titles like: Violence
against Women Act (VAWA), Title IV of the Violent Crime Control and Law
Enforcement Act (P.L. 103-322) and Personal Responsibility and Work
Opportunity Reconciliation Act of 1996 (PRWORA) - Wellstone/Murray Amendment
(P.L. 104-193).
In Mexico theres a law that talks about the domestic violence which is: Ley para la
prevencin y atencin de la violencia familiar en el estado de Mxico. In this law
they have some important point where they define the type of abuse it is, the
people it involves and some other points.
The people can make a difference if they change the way they educate their
childrens so they dont become perpetrators in another time.
Conclusion
Domestic abuse can actually be eradicated but we first have to change the
way people thinks and thats not an easy task to complete. Every family has to
educate their childrens in the right way so they can avoid these problems in their
life. For my in Mexico domestic violence is worse than in the US so we really need
to change our population mind and make them more conscious about this problem.
