TOUR CIRCUIT
On July 7 Patricia White,
renresenting the Society at the
Townshi-o Council meeting, was pre-
sented with the collection of nhoto-
graphic slides of Township Landmarks
from Sheila Dunn of the Bicentennial
Committee, which sponsored the slide
production. Ms. White then showed
the program to the Council members.
This slide show will be made avail-
able for showing to any interested
group simply by request thru the
Society's mailing address.

Rockaway Twn. Senior Citizens,
Northern District. on Oct. 14 at
the TO\VTIshipLibrary on Green Pond
Road. The Librr1.ry was made available
through the courtesy of Library Dir.,
Alyce Bowers and the Library Board of
Trustees.

BICENTENNIAL COMMITTEE
There was a tremendous
"hapnening" in Rkwy. Twp. on
Sunday. May 30: the Rockaway
Twp. Bicentennial Comm. pre-
sented an old. fashioned Amer-
ican picnic. .
Over 3,000 people ra-
diAted more warmth and bri-
ehtness than any sunshine
could ever provide. "Seeing
was believing"~ To all the
groups and individuals who
helned, participated and.att-
ended-a most sincere thank-you.
The day was successful because
of each of you. We have much to
be -oroudof. It was a day we
shall remember for many to come~
The Bicentennial Comm. is
currently working on "Welcome
to Rkwy. Twp." signs. They
will be placed at strategic
entry -ooints into the Twp.

The Rkwy.Twp.Library was built for
a Methodist Episcopal Church in 1869
and later was purchased by the Holy
Trinity Lutheran Church in 1952.
The Lions Club ourchased the property
and presented it to the Twp. for use
as a free public library in 1970.
The library has once again outrrown its
quarters and now has a branch in the
