frangible installations with wind
sensors
EXEL11, 10 m fiber glass lattice
mast for frangible installations
with wind sensors
DKP15, 2.2 m pole mast for
installations without wind
sensors
For 10 m masts also lightning
spike; standard and heavy duty
(Franklin)
Accessories
Obstruction light; Obelux LED
technology low intencity red
obstruction light
Termination box, if long ground
cables need to be terminated
outside the box
Additional guy wire set for
DKP12 in installations at sites
with heavy winds
Obstruction light
Periodic maintenance
Please check the periodic maintenance for the
sensors in the sensor specific manuals
Obstruction light; Check that the LEDs in the light
are OK. (The more LEDs are inoperative, the lower
is the intensity of the light)
Battery back up: Disconnect the voltage supply to
the battery charger and check that the back up
time is according to product specification /
customer requirement. The back up time for with a
new battery is very long; app 3 days for 6 Ah
option and 1 - 2 weeks for 48 Ah option.
Clean the surface of the solar panel and measure
with multi meter that the unit is charging
Trouble shooting
Problem Probable cause Remedy
AWSS301 is sending
slashes(////) instead of one
or more of the sensor
readings.
Please note that slashes
are sent if the
corresponding sensor is
not connected to the
AWSS301.
The sensor wire
connections / sensor
wires are defective.
Sensor(s) is(are)
defettive
The sensor is missing.
QML101 logger is
expecting all optional
sensors to be
connected. Slashes
are OK for the
sensors that are not
included in the
AWSS301.
Check the terminal connections in the AWSS
BOX301. Check that the wires are according to
the delivery documentation. If OK, check the
condition of the wires.
If above OK, the most probable cause of the
missing data is a faulty sensor. In this case the
sensor should be replaced.
AWSS301 is not sending
anything (nothing is seen
on the screen).
Press and keep down the reset button for a few
seconds. AWSS301 will restart and display:
"Using blank configuration". After this, the
proper configuration must be downloaded!
Type open and press enter. The command has
to be typed exactly right before it can be
executed.
The terminal
connection is not
open.
Correct PC port and AWSS301 com port
settings and check the cable connection.
AWSS301 will not open for
commands.
AWSS301 is not
receiving power.
Check connections and power supply.
The Setup file does
not exist in Cfg
directory.
Copy or load the file to the correct directory After reset, AWSS301
displays "!Erroneous setup
file".
Setup file is not
executable.
Type "chmod Filename rwx".
Configuration file
AWSS301 is always delivered with factory
installed configuration file
The used configuration file depends on the
selected communication option and pressure
option
If wrong file is installed, the AWSS301 does not
perform any measurements or transmit data
In the following slides there is described how the
configuration file is loaded
Loading the configuration file
Start HyperTerminal
(Win 95/NT).
Start > Programs > Accessories >
HyperTerminal > HyperTerminal
(hypertrm.exe)
Give name
"AWSS301" to the
new connection.
Click OK.
9901-04
The Phone Number
dialog will open.
For Connect Using,
choose Direct to
Com 1 (or another
Com port if you are
not using port 1).
Click OK.
9901-04
Loading the configuration file
The COM
Properties dialog
will open. Make the
settings according to
the picture.
Click OK and the
connection to
AWSS301 is set up.
After typing open,
you can start giving
commands to
AWSS301.
9901-04
Loading the configuration file
To be able to transfer
files to and from
AWSS301, you need to
choose the correct
transfer protocol:
ZModem.
When loading a new setup file to AWSS301 you must first delete
the old file: ("default" denotes the name of the setup file)
cd Cfg
del default
After that, give command zr
Choose Send File from Transfer menu. Choose Zmodem for
protocol and click Send to load the setup into AWSS301.
9901-045
Make the setup executable:
chmod default rwx
Reset AWSS301 by giving command reset
When retrieving a log file from AWSS301, choose Receive file
from the Transfer menu. Choose Zmodem for protocol. Choose
also the directory where the retrieved file is to be stored.
