SLOUGH FOODBANK Thank us for our harvest donation, it weighed 21.5kgs and this is
approximately equivalent to 24 individual meals.

DECEASED Please pray for the repose of the soul of Julia (Sheila) Arnold RIP who died
recently. Julias Funeral Service will be on Wednesday, 8

October at 3.00pm at Slough
Crematorium. Also please pray for Seford Cole who died recently, Sefords body will be
received into Our Lady of Peace Church on Monday, 13

October at 4.30pm, and his Requiem
Mass will be on Tuesday, 14
th
October at 10.00am followed by burial at Slough Cemetery. May
their souls and the souls of all the faithful departed rest in peace. Amen.

Our Lady of Peace Parish Mission
You are warmly invited to share in our celebration, prayer and renewal with the
Parish and the Sion Catholic Community for Evangelism.
Programmes, Prayer cards and Scripture leaflets are available in the
Church porches.
Week Two (Saturday, 4th Sunday, 11

October) Celebration Week.
There will be an Early Bird quiet Mass at 7.00am each day,
followed by light breakfast.
Mission Service at 7.00pm followed by tea and coffee.

For those who cannot make any of the Mission services there will be a
recording of the previous evenings talk held on the following day Tuesday
to Friday, at 2.00pm at Our Lady of Peace Church

There will be entertainment from our gifted and talented Parishioners.

MISSION PRAYER
Heavenly Father, we thank you for sending your Son, our Lord Jesus Christ, to reveal
your unconditional love for us, and for pouring out your Holy Spirit upon the Church.
May that gift of the Spirit that dwells within each one of us be fanned into a flame so
that we may have a burning love for you and for our neighbour. Help each of us to play
our part in making our parish a place of welcome, where people may experience your
healing grace and be empowered to bear witness to your love for all. We ask this
through Christ our Lord, Amen.
Our Lady of Peace, Pray for us! St Andrew, Pray for us! St Gilbert, Pray for us!

MISSION SERVICE OF THANKSGIVING There will be a special service of thanksgiving at Our
Lady of Peace, on Sunday, 5
th
October at 4.00pm, to which all in Parish Ministry are invited:
Parish Secretary, Parish Evangelisation Team, Adult Altar Servers, SVP, Readers, Eucharistic
Ministers, Money Counters, RCIA Leaders, Sacramental Programme Leaders, Flower Arrangers,
Church and Linen Cleaning Teams, Musicians and Choir members, PPC members, APC
members, Catholic Womens League, Youth Leaders (Charlie's Angels), London Run
Organisers, Sacristans, Tea and Coffee Team, Our Lady of Peace Infant and Junior School staff
and Governors. Each group is invited to bring a symbol of their ministry. The service will be
followed by refreshments.

DIVINE MERCY PILGRIMAGE to the Shrine of Our Lady of Knock, Co Mayo, Ireland from
Friday, 14

November to Tuesday, 18

November. Programme includes Retreat days with
guest speakers at Shrine and optional tour to Croagh Patrick. Daily Mass and Hour of Mercy
and Worship. Package includes return flights by Aer Lingus from Gatwick (hand luggage only 10
kg) half board, 4 nights accommodation in en suite twin rooms and). Cost 365. All

FIRST HOLY COMMUNION 2015
If your child is in Year 3, and you wish your child to receive their First Holy
Communion in May 2015, you will need to enrol them on the First Holy Communion
programme. The First Holy Communion classes will begin in January 2015 and will
be held at St Andrews on Saturday mornings. The first enrolment date will be on
Thursday, 16
th
October between 3.30pm and 5.00pm, the second date will be
Thursday, 24
th
October between 6.00pm and 7.00pm. They will both be held in the
Sacristy at Our Lady of Peace Church. Parents will need to complete an
enrolment form which will be available on the enrolment date. You will also need to
bring with you a copy of the childs Baptism certificate: if you cannot find it, you will
need to contact the Parish where your child was Baptised and obtain it before the
enrolment meeting.
