INTRODUCTION

In the recent years interactive robots, living
together with people in non-industrial application
areas are gaining importance. Such ubiquitous
robot applications include various services such as
disaster rescue, home use, health care,
transportation, education etc. Among the
technologies, this workshop focuses on how to
avoid and track an object well because it gives
robots the interactivity.
Object tracking can be defined as the process of
segmenting an object of interest from a video scene
and keeping track of its motion, orientation,
occlusion etc., in order to extract useful
information. This workshop will provide a base to
Robotics and Image Processing. They will learn the
Machine Vision technology and get better
understanding and grip on its application. There will
be hands on experience on Image acquisition and
Image Processing Toolbox. They will be developing
their own models by their own hands.
Upon completion attendees will get a certificate of
participation.

COURSE CONTENTS

ABOUT US

ANNA UNIVERSITY
Anna University was established on 4th September
1978 as a unitary type of university by merging
renounced engineering institution namely College
of Engineering Guindy, Madras Institute of
Technology Chrompet, School of Architecture &
Planning Guindy & Alagappa College of Engineering
Guindy. It offers higher education in Engineering &
Technology and allied sciences relevant to current
and projected needs of the society. Besides
promoting research and disseminating knowledge
gained from there, it also fosters co-operation
between academic and communities.

MIT
Madras Institute of Technology, Chrompet is one of
the campuses of Anna University. It was started in
the year 1949 by Mr.C.Rajam. The broad-based
education, coupled with practice oriented training
in their specially, has enabled the students to MIT
to handle with skill and success a wide variety of
technical problems. The MIT has developed into an
important canter of engineering education and
earned an excellent reputation in both India and
abroad.

MECHATRONICS
Mechatronics is the synergistic integration of
mechanical engineering with electronics and
intelligent, computer control in the design and
manufacture of products and processes and it has
futuristic application in the cutting edge
technology.
Mechatronics system engineering has gained global
interest in the past decade from the educational
and industrial sectors. This unique inter disciplinary
programme is launched for the first time in India at
MIT campus in the year 1998.
Mechatronics is essential in the design of intelligent
products. It allows engineers to transform their
concepts into reality. Within the next few decades,
the trade of intelligent products with improved
flexibility, performance, reliability and maintenance
will be crucial for the economic vitality of any
country.
Mechatronics has wide range of applications in
robotics, industrial, home automation, inline
assembly of automobiles, aerospace, nuclear and
marine engineering.

ELIGIBLITY
The program is open to the Under Graduate and
Post-Graduate students of engineering
colleges/universities from all disciplines.
Participants are limited to 30 teams.

PRE-REQUISITES
The participants are requested to bring laptop fully
charged to the venue
