Anticipated problems:
Ss. may not know how to make the agreement between the verb and the subject;
Ss. may be reluctant to speak.
Lesson aims:
To raise Ss interest on the new topic;
To look for specific information;
To practice their reading, listening and speaking skills;
Materials: textbooks, video, worksheets.
Methods: conversation, explanation, example.
Activity 1: Checking homework
Aim: to check the previous knowledge and connect it to new information
Procedure: Ss. read their homework and correct themselves when necessary

Activity 2: Warm-up
Aim: to introduce the topic
Procedure: T. plays a video which introduces the new grammar structures they must use
to express obligation, prohibition or lack of obligation. She writes the sentences on the
bb. then invites them to look and discuss upon them.

Activity 5: Feedback - Speaking about your and your classmates' duties at home
Aim: to improve their speaking skills and practice new vocabulary
Procedure: T. writes sentences on the Bb. about the duties the Ss. may or not have at
home, i.e.: feeding the animals, watering the plants in the garden, picking fruit, tidying
their rooms, etc. Then six volunteer Ss. will go to the front of the class to interact. They
will interview their peers in turn and find out whether they have to do some of the duties,
the questions will be freely chosen. After finding out their classmates' answers they will
report them to the class using the simple present perfect, third person, singular.

a. MUST+ present infinitive express :
1. An obligation imposed by the speaker : Pedestrians must cross the street on the zebra only.
2. A necesity imposed by the interiour will : I must take a short holiday.
b. TO HAVE TO+ present infinitive
1. An obligation imposed by one certain situation : Im afraid I have to give you some bad news.
c. SHOULD + present infinitive or OUGHT TO
