INTRODUCTION
The modular air handling unit design concept provides the exibility to meet the rising demand of indoor air quality. A quality range
of 13 units with air ows of 1,100 CFM to 44,000 CFM and up to 1,500 Pascal total static pressure. Our specially extruded aluminum
prole posts, plastic injected corners and ush tting panels and doors give the building designed and occupier a unit of aesthetic and
clean lines unsurpassed in the marketplace.
The RA range can be manufactured to almost any conguration to meet customers requirements in accordance with EN-1886 standards.

FLEXIBILITY
RA units are manufactured in modular sections. Units can be shipped fully or partially assembled to facilitate handling and lifting in
case of limited access. All components of Ra units are easily accessible. Different sectional arrangements & fan discharge positions
are possible depending on the site constraints and requirements. AHU units are suitable both for duct connections or free discharge
applications. A typical AHU Units consists of a wide choice of a combination but not limited to the following sections, fan, cooling coil,
heating coil, humidier, lter section, heat recovery system, by-pass section, multi-zone, mixing box dampers, return air fan, plenums
etc.

CASING AND CONSTRUCTION
1 Frame
RA series section casings are constructed of framed modules. For maximum rigidity and strength,
structure frame is made of extruded anodized aluminum prole so called Penta-Post.
2 Panels
RA panels are constructed from double wall, sandwich type panels (thickness is 25mm or 45mm
based on the unit size) where the insulation is kept out of air stream and assures better indoor
quality.
As standard RA20-RA165 are 25mm and RA220-RA440 are 450 mm.
Inner Panels
It is made of galvanized steel 18 GA which is easy to clean and has smooth surface and this
eliminates any chance of dirt and bacteria.

Outer Panel
It is made of galvanized steel 24GA chemically treated and painted with RAL 9003 color scheme. This nish and coating can pass a 1000
hour, 5% salt spray testing at 950 F (350) and 95% relative humidity.
3 Insulation
For best thermal and acoustical performance, all panels and Penta-Post frames are internally insulated with berglass 48kg/m3 which
conforms to HH-1- Type1, SMACNA standard for duct and ASTM C-423 and NFPA90A and 90B standards for re resistance.
4 - Access panel
The accessibility to the internal components subject to inspection or maintenance is easily done via the removable inspection doors
constructed in the same material as the panels.
Option
45mm panel can be provided for RA20-RA165 upon request.

Stainless Steel 304/316 material or Aluminum panels inner and outer.
18GA and 16GA can be provided upon request.

5 Unit Base
RA provided with base under the until as an option
Unit Base is fabricated from high painted galvanized sheet metal available with the following heights 100mm for RA20 RA440.
For unit without base, wooden ballets are provided to facilitate shipping and handling.
* Unit with sectional split (s), shall be provided with gaskets and sealing material as well as connection clamps, to permit quick and air
tight site assembly.
6 Roof Panel
For outdoor application RA should be provided with roof panel to protect it from varying climates.
INTAKE / MIXING BOX
Intake / Mixing Box is available with Dampers sized according to the required CFM. As standard the damper is heavy duty, multiblade
and low leakage and damper frame is constructed from 15ga hat-section.

FILTERS
Wide varieties from air ltration system are available to choose from depending
on requirements which include:
1. - Pre or Panel lter:
2 panel lter with aluminum washable media or 2 berglass / synthetic
disposable media, average dust arrestance ranges from 62% to 95%.
2. Vee Filter or Low velocity Filter:
Filter arrange in a vee bank to increase the ltration area, media options are
the same as in panel lters.
3. Bag lter
15, 22 deep higher efciency bag lters with average dust spot efciency
ranging from 75% to 95%.
Combination of bag and pre lters are available.
4. HEPA Filter :
Ultra high absolute HEPA (High Efciency Particulate Air) lter with efciency in
excess of 99.5 %.
5. Carbon Filter:
Activated carbon is for gaseous contaminations removal.
6. Electrostatic Filter:
Utilize synthetic material which develops an electrostatic charge as friction is
applied to the plastic bers. In the lters case, air owing through the lter
provides the necessary friction.
For RA20 to RA110 models, the lter frames are installed don channel to enable
easy sliding removal for the lters.
For RA150 to RA440 lter frames are xed inside the lter section.

COILS
Variety of coils including water, direct expansion (R22, R134a, R407C) and hot
water coil are available to meet a wide range of applications requirements.
Coil comply to ARI 410 standard
Coils are assembled in slide-in guides for easy removal for maintenance
replacement and coils are constructed from seamless copper tubes of 1/2
OD arranged in a staggered form in the direction of airow and tested at 300
psig.
Headers and connections are made out of seamless copper pipe, inlet
and outlet connections are sealed against unit panel by rubber gaskets as
standard.
Cooling coil section is provided with insulated GI drain pan with MPT drain
connection as standard.

ENERGY RECOVERY
Energy recovery systems typically incorporate heat exchange equipment to reduce energy costs.

Humidity transfer (hygroscopic version)

3 Heat Pipe:

STEAM HUMIDIFIER
The steam is generated in a polypropylene cylinder mounted onto the outside
of the humidier section within a special enclosure. A stainless steel distributor
suitable in length passes through unit casing to inject steam in the air stream.

FAN AND MOTORS
RA series used double inlet width centrifugal fan
as standard with several types of impellers:
1 Forward curved
2 Backward inclined curved.
3 Airfoil Prole.
4 Plug Fan.
All fans are belt driven statically and dynamically balanced. Depends on fan
class and size the fan equipped with self aligned ball bearings that are greased
for life, or pillow block bearings with re-greasing nipples.
Fan motors are totally enclosed fan cooled (TEFC), foot mounted, 2 or 4 poles,
IP55 protected and class F insulated. The motor are mounted on adjustable
base and the complete fan motor drive assembly is mounted on oating sub
base. RA20-RA75 rubber isolator as standard. For RA95-RA440 spring isolator
as standard.

DIFFUSER PLATE
The diffuser plate is a perforated, heavy gauge galvanized steel plate provided to shutter the air and distribute it uniformity across the
section. The use of diffuser plate becomes essential when functionally sensitive is facing high face velocities.
SOUND ATTENUATORS
The sound attenuator for reducing noise and vibration generated by ow of air,
particularly air laden with moisture, particulates and corrosive substances.
ELECTRIC HEATER
Electric heaters are available in a wide range of capacity (KW) and steps.
As standard heater RA provided with open type nned heater constructed from 80/20 nickel chrome
resistance elements via anti-thermal shock, moisture resistant steatite free oating holding ceramics.
Electric heater provided in separated section.
Options
AIR FLOW SWITCH : To prevent heater from
being energized when the fan is not on.
