Business Development Manager

Job Description

Main purpose of post:
To take responsibility for the organisations efforts to grow its income streams, and hence
ensure financial self-sustainability as well as sufficient funds for its charitable objectives
Working with the Deputy CEO to help ensure the organisation is creative and entrepreneurial in
maintaining and expanding its position as Londons leading cycling organisation, recognising
the evolution in the public market place that is underway

Main Responsibilities:
To manage development and delivery of income generation through consultancy and
programme delivery, rides and training, insurance and trading
To manage delivery of contracts
To assist in generating sponsorship and individual giving

Reporting to:
Deputy CEO (Business)

Working with:
Deputy CEO (Business)
Marketing and Income Generation Manager
Membership Officers
CEO
Income Generation Board sub committee

Staff Responsible for:
There are no staff responsibilities within this post at present

1. Manage the development of Commercial Services/Partnerships
Scope, market and develop Cycling Facilities and Cycling Strategy Consultancy
Scope, market and develop Service Delivery programmes including led rides and cycle training
Scope, market and develop LCC Insurances and Trading
Assist Income Generation Manager to scope, market and develop Sponsorship and Individual
giving programme
Full project co-ordination from lead generation, contract negotiation and account management
Networking and liaison with key funders in central London and boroughs
Delivery of projects including recruitment and/or creating partnerships to deliver programme
Project manage delivery by other staff and subcontractors
Create and manage budgets


2. General
Ensure proper record-keeping, computerised recordings, and any other office systems are
maintained for and by the programmes and development team.
Work in close co-operation with other members of the staff team, volunteers and activists on all
aspects of the job description
Develop and maintain an understanding of LCCs work as a whole, and the needs and desires
of cyclists and people who might want to cycle in London
Answer the telephone when necessary and deal with callers
Comply with all requirements of Health and Safety and Data Protection legislation
Cover for other team members when absent or busy
Carry out all other appropriate activities as requested by the Deputy CEO and the Chief
Executive

Terms and Conditions

Contract: 35 hours per week permanent contract subject to three month
probationary period
Salary: Between 35,500 and 40,500 inclusive of London weighting.
Pension: LCC pays a 6% non-contributory pension after 3 months
Holidays: 28 days per annum + public holidays
Notice period: 2 months
