Recirculation of seed particles of gas hydrate and wax. Demo at Tiller loop. StatoilHydro, BP Reelwell: Managed Pressure Drilling (MPD) to increase the hydrocarbon recovery and reduce environmental impact. Improved downhole pressure control allows for extreme reach drilling (ERD) resulting in safer and faster operations. Testing at Ullrigg ODIM CTCU and fibre ropes installation work at extreme water depths. Individually controlled sheaves which move at different speeds, distributing the load evenly to prevent spinning and slippage Kongsberg SIM (subsidiary of Kongsberg Intellifield). SIM Reservoir, software for immediate 3D visualization of geological/reservoir information on laptop/PC. Vispo3D, 3D geo-portal software for logistics tracking, maintenance support, and operational status tracking for end users in the oil and gas industry. AGR Subsea: CMP Dual Gradient Drilling JIP, managed pressure drilling demo at 500 m wd in 2009/10. Further development of RMR demonstrated at 500 m in 2004/5, extended to 5000 ft (Malaysia) in 2008. MUDCUBE treatment of drilling fluids. Vacuum system to degas the fluid. Improving drilling operations, increasing ROP. Fully enclosed, no fumes, improved working environment and personnel safety. Some recent examples (II) SWIT - Seabed Water Injection and Treatment. Pilot testing. Subsea treatment of raw seawater, providing high quality injection water while avoiding flowline costs Downhole Energy Generator: Perform onshore qualification of the technology and prepare for a pilot installation in a well on the NCS. Laboratory testing and environmental testing of energy generator performance. Full scale testing in a representative multiphase flow loop setup. (Tiller) Develop and commercialise Typhoon Valve, low-shear valve concept for optimized petroleum separation and improved multi-phase flow control. Qualify a separation friendly valve that reduce droplet brake-up and formation of oil/water emulsions. Improve efficiency of separation processes. Chemical tracers for production monitoring. Permanent, wireless and reliable downhole measurement systems for inflow monitoring and control. Faster and easier access to continuous inflow information without the intervention of downhole tools. eDrilling qualification and demonstration. A complete system for simulating, monitoring and visualising drilling operations in three dimensions. Real time decision support. Partners: HPD, Sintef, First Interactive, Aker MH. The submerged tow method developed in phase 1 appears very attractive, and analysis shows no significant stress or fatigue problems even in storm conditions. The main task in Phase 2 will be the model test focusing on towing operations and possible vortex induced vibrations (VIV) during tow-out. VIV in cross current has been identified as a potential problem Outline scope of work: System & Component Design Perform In-place & Tow-out Analysis Tow-out & Installation Studies Model test (1:40) Fabrication study Controlled Mud Pressure (CMP) Dual Gradient Drilling JIP AGR Subsea Project description Controlled Mud Pressure (CMP): next step in developing Dual Gradient Drilling (DGD)/Managed Pressure Drilling (MPD) technology CMP is based on AGRs Riserless Mud Recovery (RMR/DGD) system for use on a floater CMP can be commercially applied from 500 meter to deepwater wells The DG is used to ensure precise annulus/Bottom Hole Pressure (BHP) control, with lighter Blanket fluid in the riser, and heavier drilling mud in the well By adjusting the Blanket fluid/mud level in the riser, accurate BHP control is introduced Aker Solutions Ice Model Testing of Structures with a Downward breaking Cone in the Waterline PROJECT 4 GENERIC INTERNET BASED ARCTIC OIL SPILL CONTINGENCY GUIDE Sintef Materials and Chemistry Next Generation Oil Spill Technology for Arctic and Ice Covered Areas PROJECT 3 NEXT GENERATION DISPERSANT APPLICATION SYSTEM PROJECT 1 AND 2 Prototype testing and verification of new skimmers Skimmer 1 The Helix skimmer concept developed by Ro-Clean Desmi in Denmark.
