Registering as a Student
In order to purchase a copy of the Student Edition of ANSYS, you will first have to register for an account
at https://www1.ansys.com/customer/siebel/StudentReg.asp. Fill out of the fields with your
information. The account number needs to be requested by the College of Engineering student via a
ticket request from http://pcs.uncc.edu/open-ticket enter the academic facility name University of
North Carolina. Once all the fields have been filled in, click the Next button.



Select your professor from the dropdown list and the click the Submit button. If your professor is not
listed, ask them to register at https://www1.ansys.com/customer/New_Login_siebel.asp before
continuing.



Now fill in the password you would like to use and select a security question and provide an answer.

With the given username and the password you created, log in to the web portal.

Click the ANSYS Academic Student Product item.



Before downloading ANSYS, make sure you buy a license through the Buy Now so that way you can
activate and use it.




Downloading ANSYS
After logging into the ANSYS customer portal, click the ANSYS Academic Student Product item and
then click the Download button. Make sure that you have bought a license through the Buy Now
item before continuing as you will need a license for the install. Once you have bought a license, click
the Download button. You will be prompted to select which version of ANSYS you would like to install.
Be sure to match the operating system on your computer to the download or else you will not be able to
install ANSYS.

A file download manager will start and download the necessary files compressed in a zip file. You will
need to unzip the files once they are downloaded.



Once downloaded and unzipped, run the setup file as Administrator and then click the Install ANSYS, Inc.

Read the license agreement and if you agree, select the I AGREE option and then click the Next >>
button.



Click the Next >> button if you wish to have the default recommended install of ANSYS.
