Setting Up Your Sound BlasterAxx
The AXX 200 is a refined portable Sound BlasterAxx with built-in rechargeable battery, audio playback,
Bluetooth connectivity and NFC feature. Simply operate it in standalone mode, powered by the built-in
battery. Alternatively, you can either connect the AXX 200 to a computer via the USB, or connect it to
the power supply.
Standalone Mode (Battery Powered)
The Sound BlasterAxx is now portable with its built-in battery. The rechargeable battery has a life span
of up to 15 hours of continuous audio playback. Actual battery life will vary with use, settings and
environmental conditions.
You are recommended to charge your AXX 200 for at least 8 hours before its first use. For more
information, refer to Charging the Sound BlasterAxx.
Note:
The AXX 200 will go into Standby mode if there is no activity within 10 minutes and will automatically
power off it is not in use for 1 hour.
Setting Up Your Sound BlasterAxx 8
Charging the Sound BlasterAxx
Connect your AXX200 to a power supply via an adapter or the Docking Base (available separately), or
to your computer by using the MicroUSB-to-USB cable.
Charge your Sound BlasterAxx for approximately 6 hours. It is recommended that you charge it for at
least 8 hours before it is used for the first time.
Note:
l Lithium-ion battery life may suffer when it is constantly fully depleted or overexerted
at low voltage. It is a good practice to keep the battery well charged.
l For optimal charging, it is recommended to keep the volume low while the AXX 200 is
being charged, or when charging an external device (e.g. phone, MP3 player, etc.).
l When turned on, some external devices require a higher charging rate than battery
banks can typically provide. For the quickest charging time, turn off your external
device before charging it.
l When the battery is low while playing at loud volumes, the amplifier will intelligently
and automatically adjust the volume to a lower and appropriate level so as to extend
the battery life.

Organizing audio files on microSD card using a computer
(for Windows OS)
The MP3/WMA Player plays files according to the order in which they were being copied. In order for you
to retain the order of the audio files that are being transferred from your computer to your microSD
card, we recommend that you follow these steps below.
1. Organize the audio files alphabetically in a folder in the order that you would like them to appear on
the microSD card. Close the folder.
2. Reopen the folder and click on an empty space in the window to ensure that no file is being selected.
3. Press Ctrl + A to select all the files in that folder.
4. Copy them (Ctrl + C) and paste them (Ctrl + V) to your microSD card.
This ensures your files are copied to the microSD card in your desired order.
Note:
After opening the folder in step 2, we recommend that you do not click on any file. This is because the
Windows operating system will reproduce the files in the destination folder beginning with the file
that you have first clicked, which may lead to confusion. Drag and drop file / folder has similar
complications.
The file transfer behavior on other operating systems or media players may differ. To ensure your
files are played back in a particular sequence, transfer the files one by one in the desired order.
MP3/WMAPlayer, Voice Recording and Karaoke 19

Note:
- It is a good practice to use a new microSD card for recording.
- The default recording sampling rate is at 16kHz. This is designed to record longer voice recording
sessions (e.g. meetings, conference calls, etc.) and avoid large file sizes. You can switch to 48kHz,
which is ideal for shorter, higher quality Karaoke music recording.
For more information, see Using the Software - Voice Recording Settings.
2. Press the Voice Recording button behind your AXX 200 to start recording.
3. Recording starts after you hear a "beep".
The pulsing Mic Mute button indicates that recording is ongoing.
4. The recorded audio file will be saved onto the microSD card.
Note:
- For recording, we recommend that you use Class 4 microSD or microSDHC cards.
- Audio recording will be saved in WAV format (compressed in ADPCM format) in the "VOICE"folder.
- Simultaneous audio playback and recording on a microSD card is not supported.
5. To stop recording, press the Voice Recording button again.
A low pitched "toot" is heard. The Mic Mute button continues to pulse until the recording is com-
pletely saved.
6. To play back the recorded voice file in the "VOICE"folder, press the Voice Playback button.

gaming experience to the next level. These include:
l SBX Surround - designed to work best when you connect a pair of headphones to the AXX 200, this
technology provides immersion control to enhance the natural sense of audio depth and
spaciousness by creating virtual surround sound channels. Stereo content or multichannel content
will sound as if its coming from all sides while voices remain centered in front and original balance
and timbre is preserved.
l SBX Crystalizer - restores the natural dynamic range that is lost when music files (iTunes and
MP3) gets compressed. This makes the music sound as good as the artist originally intended, and
adds an enhanced level of realism for movies and games.
l SBX Bass - fills in the missing low frequency tones and gives the extra impact for a better
entertainment experience. Consumers no longer have to tolerate a lack of bass in speakers as the
SBX Pro Studio Bass technology dramatically improves the sound experience even in the absence of
a subwoofer.
l SBX Smart Volume - addresses the problem of abrupt volume level changes during playback and
between songs by continously measuring volume automatically, applying gain and attenuation
intelligently to compensate for any changes.
Using the Software 32
l SBX Dialog Plus - enhances the voices in movies for clearer dialog, allowing the listener to hear
the dialog over the rest of the soundtrack and over ambient noise in the listening environment.

doing away with noisy background distortions and unclear communication that disrupts your online
gaming and chatting experience. The various enhancements available include:
CrystalVoice Acoustic Echo Cancellation - eliminates echoes and enables the speaker to listen to
the other parties clearly. Echoes are a common problem present in voice communication systems that
disrupts conversations by making it difficult to hear the other party.
CrystalVoice Noise Reduction - enables the speaker to be heard clearly over background noise by
constantly monitoring the environment and reducing unwanted noise that interferes with the
conversation.
CrystalVoice Smart Volume - automatically adjusts the loudness of a voice to maintain a consistent
volume level. This makes it convenient for the speaker to converse normally, regardless of his distance
from the microphone.
CrystalVoice FX - enables the alteration of voice with a variety of effects which can be used to
enhance the tone of a voice, create interesting accents or even allow someone to sound like a
completely different person. There are 17 different characters available in the Sound BlasterAxx Control
Panel!
CrystalVoice Focus - creates a zone and suppresses noise outside it to enable the speaker within to
be heard with amazing clarity. Multiple microphones are used to focus, enhance the speakers voice,
and reduce sounds outside the zone.

i. Tighten the USB connection at both ends of the cable.
ii. The USB cable may be faulty. Replace the cable with a working USB cable.
iii. Your computer's USB port may be disabled, or faulty or requires a driver update. Check your
computer's hardware device manager to determine the working status of your USB port. Enable
your USB port and/or update its driver.
If the problem persists, connect the AXX 200 to a different USB port.
If you are connected via a USB Power Adapter, please check that all cables are tightly connected and
the power socket is turned on.

audio output as the Sound Blaster AXX 200 (under sound and audio devices section) on your computers
operating system.
Note:
Troubleshooting and Support 43
Audio transmitted from your Sound BlasterAxx may be slightly delayed; this is due to the

Permanent hearing loss may occur if the headphone is used at high volume. Set the volume to a safe
level. You can adapt over time to a higher volume of sound that may sound normal but can be damaging
to your hearing. If you experience ringing in your ears or muffled speech, stop listening and have your
hearing checked. The louder the volume, the less time is required before your hearing could be
affected. Hearing experts suggest that to protect your hearing:
l Limit the amount of time you use the headphone at high volume.
l Avoid turning up the volume to block out noisy surroundings.
l Turn the volume down if you cant hear people speaking near you
