PARISH NEWS

A BIG THANK YOU to all who helped to make our Parish Mission so special: To our overall and
individual area co-ordinators, and to all who helped through prayer, publicity, printing and
photocopying, accommodation, hospitality and teas & coffees, flowers and visual displays, transport,
visiting, music, our youth event and parish social, the Mass with the Anointing of the Sick, and all the
hard work that went on in the background which enabled the Mission to run so smoothly. It was a
truly graced time and we pray that the blessings of the Mission may continue in the life of our parish
in the coming weeks and months.

PARISH MASS COUNT Week three of the annual Parish Mass count.

THANK YOU Mary McCarthy wishes to thank Joe for helping to raise funds for St Gilberts
Mission project by selling Christmas cards at St Andrews last weekend. The amount raised
was 128.78. Thank you also to all those who bought the cards.

HOLY SOULS ENVELOPES These are now available in the Church porches. Please write the
names of your dear ones and put in the envelope with your offering. The envelopes can be
returned with the usual collection or put them through the letter box at the Presbytery. Your dear
ones will be remembered at all the Masses for the Holy Souls offered during November

FIRST HOLY COMMUNION 2015
If your child is in Year 3, and you wish your child to receive their First Holy
Communion in May 2015, you will need to enrol them on the First Holy Communion
programme. The First Holy Communion classes will begin in January 2015 and will
be held at St Andrews on Saturday mornings. The second enrolment date will be on
Thursday, 24
th
October between 6.00pm and 7.00pm. It will be held in the Sacristy
at Our Lady of Peace Church. Parents will need to complete an enrolment form
which will be available on the enrolment date. You will also need to bring with you a
copy of the childs Baptism certificate: if you cannot find it, you will need to contact
the Parish where your child was Baptised and obtain it before the enrolment
meeting.








OCTOBER ROSARY WITH EXPOSITION at St Ethelberts Church on Wednesday 22 October,
7.30-8.30pm. All welcome during this special month of the Holy Rosary.

LONDON AND SLOUGH RUN Get your running shoes on! Local homeless Charity, The
London and Slough Run are organising a 5k fun run and 10k race at Olympic venue Dorney
Lake on 26

October at 10.30am. All proceeds go to the Slough Winter Nightshelter. Please take
a flyer from the porch to help promote the event at work, down the Gym or with friends and
family (see www.synthetixcharityrun.com). We are also looking for volunteers to help as

PREPARE THE WAY OF THE LORD! A workshop for Catechists and teachers who will engage
with children, teenagers and adults leading them in Prayer and liturgy during Advent, led by the

DIVINE MERCY PILGRIMAGE to the Shrine of Our Lady of Knock, Co Mayo, Ireland from
