Causes of the French Revolution

In the 1700, France was the most advanced country in Europe. There is a problem about high
taxes and about the enlightenment ideas of Voltaire, Locke, and Rousseau. The Old Regime
is the social political system of France. It divided in the three social classes--Privileged Estate
and Third Estate. The enlightenment idea also spread among the third estate. At that time
economic problem was going down because of the increasing taxes and France has also have
a king and queen who use a lot of money and didnt solve the problem. France was in the
serious problem of the economic problem about the enlightenment and rise of taxes.
The social political system of France known as the Old Regime divided the people in to three
social classes. There are the Privileged Estate and The Third Estate. The privileged estate has
an exception of paying taxes. They own the lands and provide education. Then Roman
Catholic Church is the one who started the privileged estate. The second estate is the rich
people. They pay so little of taxes and they own a few lands too. The 97 percent of people
were in the third estate are people are the working people, have money, and education. They
strongly in the enlightenment idea of liberty and equality. There are also a lot of peasants
who formed a group and pay half of their incomes. Third estate brings the serious problems
because they began questioning and most of the people who are working have the overloaded
taxes. This is the main factor that leads France into economic problem and dept.
King Louis XVI and Queen Marie Antoinette, who was known as Madame Deficit, use a lot
of money and they borrow a lot of money from the bank. Frances government sank deeply
into dept. In 1786 the banker refuses to let them borrow because they have too much dept.
France run down in a serious problem because the King did not solve anything and also
provide a poor advice. Marie Antoinettes behaviors only make the situation worse. After he
doesnt have money left, he increases the taxes from nobility.
In conclusion, France was once the advanced country in Europe. In 1770-1778 are the period
of serious problem. The people were not equal because and there are more taxes for the poor
people. The third estate has a problem about the enlightenment ideas of equality, liberty, and
democracy. The country have run out of money and raise more taxes because King Louis
XVI and Queen Marie Antoinette spend a lot of money and also borrow a lot of money that
causes France to overload dept. King have a poor decision and did not do anything to solve
those problem, but only impose taxes to nobility. These are all of the causes of the France
revolution.
