FEANI is a federation of professional engineers that unites national engineering associations
from 32 European countries. Thus, FEANI represents the interests of over 3,5 million professional engineers in Europe. FEANI is striving for a single voice for the engineering profession in Europe and wants to affirm and develop the professional identity of engineers. Through its activities and services, especially with the attribution of the EUR ING professional title, FEANI aims to facilitate the mutual recognition of engineering qualifications in Europe and to strengthen the position, role and responsibility of engineers in society. The General Secretariat of FEANI, managing the activities of the federation, is located in Brussels since late 1997. Actively work towards realising the CPD plan. Systematically record their CPD activities and achievements so that maintaining and/or developing professional competence can be demonstrated, and if needed, the competence acquired may be assessed and acknowledged. Strive for quality in their personal CPD, as well as, the use of a variety of methods e.g. formal courses/programs, academic studies, professional visits, on-the job-learning. Keep informed of and respond to the CPD mission, policy of their professional institution and/or National Member Organisation. Mobility is important for Engineers because of the demand for flexible deployment on an international basis and different availability of engineers across national borders. Engineers and Employers require a tool that shows a comparable educational profile whose recognition is based on international standards and is easy to use for professionals and employers.
The Engineering Card is already available in the following countries: Germany - www.engineering-card.de Netherlands - www.engineering-card.nl Czech Republic - www.engineering-card.cz Poland www.not.org.pl/not/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=676&Itemid=147 Croatia - www.his-hr.hr/his/eng/2012/04/20/eur-ing Serbia - www.sits.org.rs Slovenia - www.engineering-card.si
