the lightweight system of equipment pouches that provides for convenient storage and easy access to ammunition of gear.

INDIVIDUAL FIRST AID KIT (IFAK)
The Individual First Aid Kit increases individual warfighter capabilities to provide Self-Aid/Buddy-Aid and
provides interventions for two leading causes of death on the battlefield, severe hemorrhage and inadequate
airway. These capabilities increase soldier survivability during dispersed operations and the expandable pouch
allows for METT-C specific add-ins.
The IFAK was issued to every deploying Soldier via the Rapid Fielding Initiative. Weighing one pound, the
IFAK consists of the following expendable medical items packaged inside of a modified MOLLE 100 round
SAW ammo pouch.

The Ghillie Suit Accessory Kit provides surveillance units and snipers with various camouflage
multifunctional materials. They can construct, repair and modify ghillie suits to meet unique mission and
climatic requirements.
The upgrade kit consists of universal netting, over whites, flame-resistant jute, nylon cord, sewing kit, camo
pack, zip ties, dye packs, seam grip Cordura, nylon webbing, Fast-tex fasteners, gun sleeve, hook and loop and
suspenders. These materials are used to fabricate and maintain one ghillie suit. The accessory kit upgrade
affords the soldier enhanced agility, multi-system operability and anti-odor and anti-microbial properties.
Ghillie Suit Accessory Kit (GSAK)
The Ghillie Suit Accessory Kit (GSAK) provides Special Operations
Forces Long Range Surveillance Units, and U.S. Marine Corps and
Army snipers with various camouflage material components to
construct, repair and modify Ghillie Suits that meet unique mission
and climatic requirements. Soldiers will custom make each suit to
their own specific design and performance requirements.
This lightweight kit consists of 17 items. These components
include: jute burlap strips in four colors, duck cloth, nylon cord, sewing needles, thread, foam
padding, tie straps, face paint, overwhite trousers, overwhite mittens, overwhite parka, netting,
camouflage covers, trouser suspenders, and several other accessory items. These items provide
suitable materials to complement natural colors, patterns, shadows and textures to fabricate and
maintain one Ghillie Suit. Each item is available individually for replacement purposes.
The kit items are packed in a flyer's kit bag. The kits are assembled by the snipers and long range
surveillance personnel when they attend their training courses. After completion of the course the
use, care and maintenance of the Ghillie Suit becomes the individual's responsibility.
