I think there is a room for GOD in the post-modern world. For God could be the
guide of us to keep us strong against other difficulties. His existence is most likely one
of what we need today. God will be the sign of HOPE to everyone. God helps us see
that life is not only about how we will pain but on how we will feel happiness and
possibly fulfilment. We are facing different problems right now. Not only in our own lives.
Not only in our country but in the whole world. Religion is not only about how we follow
the church, the first thing we must do and always remember to do is to have FAITH. To
have faith in God is to believe in HIM, but then we must not abuse him. WE must
remember that what we are living right now is our OWN LIVES. The choice on how we
will live our life is on US, on our own hands. You are the one responsible on what you
have right now in your life. You should bear that in your mind that you have the choice
to do what you want and we shouldnt rely always to GOD. All of us have their own will,
and we must know to use it. If you want to achieve your dreams or to have a better life,
YOU should be the one to do it. Like what other people are saying Nasa DIYOS and
AWA, nasa TAO ang GAWA.
In the movie Gods Not Dead, they didnt actually ask if God is dead. The
professor actually forced his students that God is Dead. Now how about we try to
question ourselves if GOD IS DEAD? Do you think God is dead? For me NO.
Definitely no. As long as there is someone out there that is still believing in him, no.
Even though, that there is a possibility that most of us would think that he is DEAD,
there will be at least on who still believe and have a strong faith to him. The situations
also wherein God guided us to the right path is what makes him alive in our lives. Like
what happened to me. At first believing in God is not only hard but a very awkward thing
for me since my parents have different religion. Aside from that I really dont know how I
should practice my faith because in the first place my teachers just said that we should
be baptized first before receiving the Holy Communion. I only see that to be a baptised
as a Christian is way better than the religion of my parents. For me as Grade 3 pupil at
that time, to be a Christian is only an advantage on my part.
But then it started to change when I cant handle my problems. There is always
one moment when I feel so hopeless that I cant overcome my difficulties. It feels like its
already the end, then I will suffer and die. There are also temptations that draw me
away from believing by disobeying the commandments. What makes me overcome
these is through the Word of God. Even though, I didnt plan on going to church that
day. I didnt expect that through the homily of the mass presider I will be able to find the
answer. I feel enlightened. I feel peace. I know in myself what I should believe and what
I shall trust. My faith become certain to me and that is to believe and trust Jesus.
Based on what Ive watched on the said movie, it shows also how we should see
God. Not on what other people always say about God. Like what weve discussed on
our first class, that nakakalason ang pakikinig sa opinion ng madla. We shouldnt
focus solely on what are the opinions of other people. We have our own will to choose
on what to believe.
