THE INVITATION

Objective:
To appreciate God’s invitation for all to receive His blessings and
accept that invitation.

Scripture Text: Isaiah 55:11

“Seek the Lord while he may be found; call on him while he is
near.”

I. Introduction: CHEAP THRILLS

*Some things are not worth the price tag they carry. They may seem
“cool” and “enjoyable” now, but in the end, you will reap the
consequences.
Examples: drugs, cigarettes, alcohol

Ask the group:

 Are you pleased with the way your life is going right now?
 Are you making wise investments in your life?
 Or do you go for cheap thrills and ignore the future
consequences?

*God invites us to invest in a HAPPY and BLESSED life – the best part
is that it is FREE and readily available to us.

II. Discussion
1. Ask the group:
What are some bargains you have run across recently?

THE ROLE OF ADVERTISING

 To persuade consumers to buy.
 To convince them that they are getting a good deal.
*Note that advertisements are not always straightforward with their
facts or their presentation.
Examples: Print ads – maganda sa picture, pero pag binili na, maliit
lang pala or hindi maganda ang presentation.

GOD’S OFFER
 No joke!
 Completely honest.
 What you see (or hear or read about) is what you get.
 FREE!!

*When he tells us what we must do to find happiness, we can trust

him!

Isaiah 55:1
“Come, all you who are thirsty, come to the waters; and you
who have no money, come, buy and eat! Come, buy wine and
milk without money and without cost.

“WALANG LIBRE SA PANAHON NGAYON”

 This saying is not true with God.
 He wants us to stop wasting our lives on empty and meaningless
things.
 He wants us to come to Him for the blessings He can provide.

IS IT STILL AVAILABLE TODAY?

Revelations 21:6
“It is done. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and
the End. To him who is thirsty I will give to drink without cost
from the spring of life.”

2. Ask the group:

Are you satisfied with your life?

 We will never be satisfied unless we put God first in our lives.

Isaiah 55:2
“Why spend money on what is not bread, and your labor on
what
does not satisfy? Listen, listen to me, and eat what is good, and
your soul will delight in the richest of fare.
*This verse is not about food or money, but about how we spend our
life and what we get in return.

 Material things will never satisfy us.

 There is an empty space in everyone’s life that only GOD can fill.
 We must take the time to listen to God; we must do His will, only
then will we be truly happy.

Isaiah 55:3
“Give ear and come to me; hear me, that your soul may live.
I will make an everlasting covenant with you, my faithful love
promised to David.

3. Ask the group:

Do you think there are people who are beyond God’s
forgiveness?

Isaiah 55:7
“Let the wicked forsake his way and the evil man his thoughts.
Let him turn to the Lord, and he will have mercy on him, and to
our God, for he will freely pardon.
1 John 1:9
“If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our
sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”
 God forgives us the moment we come to Him in true
repentance.

Isaiah 55:8-9
“For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways
my ways,” declares the Lord. As the heavens are higher than
the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my
thoughts than your thoughts.”
 God does not base His forgiveness on our limited ability to
understand.
 God’s forgiveness is FREE to ALL who come to Him in
repentance.

4. What happens when we turn to God?

Isaiah 55:10, 11
“As the rain and the snow come down from heaven, and do not
return to it without watering the earth and making it bud and
flourish, so that it yields seed for the sower and bread for the
eater, so is my word that goes out from my mouth: it will
not return to me empty, but will accomplish what I desire
and achieve the purpose for which I sent it.”
 God’s Word will cause our lives to GROW, PROSPER, and be
FILLED WITH JOY – as we trust Him and accept what His Word
tells us.
 God’s Word will always be powerful to accomplish its work.
 We can know joy and happiness in life.

Isaiah 55:12, 13
“You will go out in joy and be led forth in peace; the mountains
and hills will burst into song before you, and all the trees of the
field will clap their hands. Instead of the thorn bush will grow
the pine tree, and instead of briers the myrtle will grow. This
will be for the Lord’s renown, for an everlasting sign, which will
not be destroyed.”

 God’s deliverance and blessing will follow those who are faithful
to God.

Isaiah 55:11
“Seek the Lord while he may be found; call on him while he is
near.”

Pray the Sinner’s Prayer with those who want to accept Christ
in their hearts.
