Greetings! In the previous years, De La Salle Universitys first Association of South
East Asian Nations (ASEAN) Youth Congress has been gathering students to mold their minds in uniting the ASEAN countries for a more unified and progressive future. This has been a great phase for the youth in empowering their talents and gearing them towards the maximization of their leadership competencies in numerous fields. This year, De La Salle Universitys first ASEAN Youth Summit is a declaration about issues involving the ASEAN countries for a better and brighter ASEAN and global future. De La Salle University Student Government Office of the Vice President for External Affairs cordially invites you to participate in this years ASEAN Youth Summit. To welcome you, the ASEAN Youth, De La Salle University-Manila will be hosting the ASEAN Youth Summit 2015. The aim is to create dialogue, provide feasible and sustainable outputs, and further strengthen the ASEAN alliance regarding the issues in media, social entrepreneurship and environmental efforts. With the theme Empowering ASEAN Youth Towards a Greater ASEAN Community, this years convention will be a 3-day international convention for you and other students and student leaders of ASEAN universities. It is primarily focused on reinforcing the ASEAN identity by creating a channel of discussion with regards to the ASEAN Economic Integration initiative that aims to boost the economic power of the region. Through this event, many sectors and fields will be tackled with respect to the effects of the initiative. This includes community development, trade & commerce, science & technological innovations, diplomacy, labor & employment, culture & society and youth welfare. The objective is to be achieved by creating an avenue of information and a
channel for discussion through thematic talks, collaborative activities and congregational dialogues designed to inform and empower the youth to take a stand and act on the challenges faced by the ASEAN community.
