Costume Notes

Eldon Livermore:

The character of Eldon is played by Michael Douglas.
We felt that this was the typical attire for a no-good
teacher such as Eldon. His shirt is untucked, portraying
laziness and a sheer uncaring attitude whereas, his tie
completely defeats this idea, it is tightly done, up to his
top button. The colour of his tie may arguably portray
desperation, perhaps desperation to get out of this
mess he has gotten himself into.

The accessories that Eldon is wearing gives the audience a simple idea of
what he could be like; he still wears his wedding ring, despite being
divorced, this may make the audience wonder whether or not Eldon feels
lonely and is still in love with his wife and simply wants his old life back
the less complicated and secure one.

James Mondua:
The images to the right clearly depicts the character of James which is
played by Johnny Gardener. This is the typical school boy attire. The
school shirt is tucked out, the tie had been
put together lazily and is overall, a great
representation of such characters which
are constantly
stereotyped.
The reasons as to
why the costume is
like this in particular
is due to the fact
that we had to use
the most inexpensive
costumes i.e. this is
Johnnys old high school clothing.

Extras:
The casting of our production consisted of quite a few extras, many of which wore the Oaks Park
High School uniform, similar to Johnnys. However, there were two other characters who were
merely extras, this consisted of Elise and Ms Fenn, both of which were not major characters however
they played a role nevertheless; all costumes were well thought out by the director.
