Paraphrasing

1. When man on earth sighs and weeps because life is hard, he consoles himself amid his
sufferings with the thought that life is also short. But an angel does not dare to hope that
he shall die.
- Man comforts his own self in the midst of torment of being alive caused by the pain
and tears he shed through thinking that the time he have to live in this world is not so
long. However, a good, guardian spirit never wants him to depart this life.

2. Withal, I shall liberate it, if it bends the knee to my cult, which shines with splendor still.
So powerful am I that, at this very moment, I shall give you everything you may desire, if
only you adore me.
- If someone will bow down and worship me devotedly, I give you my word that I will
use my powerful force to fulfill and bestow at this instant whatsoever you yearn for.

3. But woe unto you if you are blind and distrustful, for I shall open at your feet the deep
abyss.
- However, I will give you anguish and put you in despair if you disbelieve me; I will
send you to the seemingly bottomless chasm.

4. We have words only of contempt for the forgotten rites of his broken power. You are no
god; I am sure you lie, for only one true God exists, the God who made man and the
whole world, and whom our finite mind adores.
- We develop hatred to those who do not recognize us and took away our status and
supremacy and that is why I am certain that you are deceitful. There is only one
rightful loving God that reigns who is the creator of all and who we revere.

5. But, woe unto you if in your obstinacy you choose to disobey me, for at your feet this
very moment the fearsome earth shall open, burying you in its profundity, as a drop of
water is buried in the sand in a time of drought!
- Let despair and anguish took over you for you have preferred to challenge me
because of your stubbornness, let the soil and depths of hell eat you up.

6. Patiently I must endure my dark and inevitable destiny, for in my matchless war with
heaven, fortune was against me.
- I have got no choice but to bear the suffering with this dreadful fate because
prosperity never sided with me through my unparalleled battle with the good beings.

7. It is but just, for He is my mortal enemy; let our duel begin! I shall consider how, with
cunning and with perfidy, I shall recover my unequalled empire.
- Now, start our battle for I shall use ingenuity and deceitfulness to regain what I own
from this disproportioned territory.
