1.1 Modes of user interfaces
The radio can be accessed through:
Serial
Ethernet
Modem
By means of the following modes:
Web interface
Command Line Interface (CLI)
SNMP agent

1.2 Local connection
Local connection to the equipment via PC can be through serial or network port.

1.2.1 CLI mode - Serial Connection
The connection requirements for the serial line are:
PC with serial port and DB9 to HD-15 equipment cable
Serial communication software (HyperTerminal)

1.2.1.1 Hyper Terminal configuration
On the local PC prepare the Hyper terminal configuration in the following way
1. Start > Programs > Accessories > Communications > Hyper Terminal
The window " Connection Description" appears:

4. In the window "Connect to" select the field "Connect using" and choose the serial

1.2.2 Ethernet connection - Web interface
1.2.2.1 Recover IP address and mask
From the CLI connection 1.2.1.1) retrieve the IP address directly from the first page
(see Fig. 7). To retrieve the Netmask setting in order to set the Lap top, It's necessary
to navigate in the CLI Hyper Terminal following the below steps.
1. From the first page of the CLI connection type with the keyboard the letter "M" for
Main Menu.

2. The Main Menu window appears on the CLI. Type with the keyboard the letter
"B" to enter in the Administration menu

1.2.2.2 PC setting
To set up the Ethernet connection, access the TCP/IP properties from the control
panel network connection menu adding an IP address coherent with the retrieved via
serial connection (see Fig. 12). Follow the steps reported in Fig. 13

WARNING
Gateway value is not mandatory; If you want to set it, insert the IP address of
the NE that you have to connect.
WARNING
To access and manage the system with the Web Access it is suggested to
disable the Windows Firewall or other IP Firewall installed on the PC

To start up the web interface, click on the Explorer icon and insert in the URL link the
IP network element address as follow:

http://10.86.43.161
