Highlights of Electrical and Electronics Engineering

It makes more sense to opt for Electrical and Electronics Engineering (EEE) this year
because the energy sector is on a growth trajectory and will need thousands of electrical
engineers in the years to come.
Globally electricity has become the basic need for survival of human beings.
From household to industrial plants, communication and satellite navigation system,
electronic equipment, computers etc.,
Electrical engineering is one of the core fields of engineering, always evergreen in terms
of scope and job prospects.
Electrical Engineering is the heart of whole engineering discipline.
Renewable Energy like Solar, Wind , Biomethanisation and Fuel cell are the platform to
make challenge for power demand

EEE Courses Importance
As the power and infrastructure sectors will be on a growth trajectory for another decade, it make
more sense to opt for Electrical and Electronic Engineering (EEE) course, said A. Jayaprakash
Gandhi, career consultant here on Tuesday.
Speaking at the fourth edition of The Hindu Career Counselling programme held at the
Adhiyamaan College of Engineering here, he told students awaiting Plus-Two results that the
EEE, civil engineering courses would have an edge over ECE and mechanical engineering.
He asked students to choose a course keeping in mind the future developments and not past
records. Opportunities were bright in the electrical energy field for the next decade, and the next
best options were infrastructure and agriculture sectors.
Mr. Gandhi suggested that the students select the best college for best placement. Where you
study and how you study is more important than what you study, but you should be careful in
selecting the college.
Opportunities were aplenty in all the fields provided the students showed interest in new courses
that were introduced by colleges.
As engineering colleges were mushrooming in the State, it was for the students to opt the best
institution and the course.
Science students, not qualifying for engineering or medicine, should consider options such as
economics or English literature, for which the scope was bright.
G. Ranganath, principal, Adhiyamaan College of Engineering, Hosur, and Arun Kumar
Rajendran, management representative, Shirdi Sai Engineering College, spoke.
