Once a year at the Wycliffe USA headquarters in Orlando, Florida
staff gather to celebrate completed Scriptures. This years Scripture celebration theme was Psalm 119:114b, which says, Your Word is my source of hope (NLT). Seventeen languages, in fourteen different countries, recently received Gods Word in their heart language some for the very first time and we are reminded over and over again of the truth of that verse. Bible translation is hard work, and it often takes many years of perseverance before a community finally receives the Scriptures in their heart language. Translation is a labor of love, and that love was fully realized by these seventeen language communities over the last months as dedications were held around the world, honoring and celebrating the completion of translations in their language. But its not just a labor of love by translators. A Bible translation can only succeed when people work together to see it through to completion. It takes those who contribute to the work through prayer; those who make sacrifices by sending their loved ones abroad to be the hands and feet of Jesus to those who are in need; those who sacrifice time, energy or money; and so much more. Bible translation takes teams, and we see that clearly when the end result Gods printed Word is placed in the hands of those who have waited. (by Melissa Paredes, blog.Wycliffe.org) Thank you for being a vital part of our team! We need you and we are so grateful to the Lord who has supplied for our ministry with Wycliffe through you. We continue to find hope in Gods Word as we wait on the completion our partnership team. Though we have not seen any growth in our percentages we trust that God is working in the hearts of many to join our team. Please continue to pray and praise God for His Word that is our hope and the hope of those still waiting on a Bible in a language they can understand. So many things have happened in September and October. God has supplied opportunities for us to share in six different churches about our lives and ministry supporting Bible translation in Papua New Guinea! Marty and Sara visited Wycliffe USA headquarters in Orlando for a weeklong re-entry course and were also given a weekend marriage retreat at Glen Eyrie Castle in Colorado. Marty had his gall bladder removed. Taylor celebrated her 19th birthday at home during a long weekend from Liberty. Tia and Miriam were both on the A-B honor roll and Tia now has braces. Jade won the award of Terrific Kid from Waxhaw Elementary School. Sara shared the testimony of her abundant life with a group of about 150 ladies. We are busy with life and ministry, and would love to reconnect with YOU!
