Looking for my fur-ever home

A GREENSBOROUGH cat
shelter is looking to house
some of its senior
residents.
The Cat Protection Society
of Victorias animal
attendant Kylie Strachan
said she would love to see
the felines get adopted
soon.
With kitten season just
around the corner, they will
inevitably get overlooked
when the cute kittens start
coming in, Ms Strachan
said.
She said rescued cats were
often more appreciative of
the love a new home
offered them.
She encouraged those
looking for a new pet to
consider adopting a cat.
The Cat Protection Society
keeps cats until they are
adopted, with more than
50 cats ready for a new
home.
Smokey, 13, was
surrendered with skin
cancers on her ears. She
had surgery to remove the
cancers, but has been left
with trimmed ears.
To adopt a cat, go to cat
protection.com.au or visit
the shelter at 200 Elder St,
Greensborough.

Shelter News
We have not yet received approval from the Banyule Council for our new purpose built shelter. But no news can
be good news so fingers and paws remain crossed. The new shelter will provide quality feline veterinary
treatment to members of the public at reasonable cost. And of course our shelter and adoption facilities will be
a wonderful interim home for our cats and kittens whilst they wait patiently for their fur-ever home.

What is the most rewarding
thing about working at CPS?
Helping raise awareness of cat
issues and advocating for
responsible cat ownership.
Also being around people who
love cats as much as I do.

Do you have a special bond
with a particular cat?
I have a special bond with
Nanny & Kovu because I am a
sucker for a lap cat & these
guys are both suckers for a lap.

What do you like best about
working at CPS?
Getting to spend time with cats

Whats your favourite work
memory?
When Sid, a moggie who was
with us for a long time, found
his forever home.

If I was a cat, I would be a
moggie, most probably a
tortoishell, because they are
typically a little bizarre

Lady Penny is a beautiful Siamese Cross that has been
with us for quite a while and just hasnt managed to
find her forever home; a lot of people become
interested in Lady Penny when they meet her, but
dont adopt her because she has allergies. It just
means when she does find her forever home, we know
her family will love her for who she truly is, and not just
for her looks.

Lady Pennys allergies means she can get the sniffles
quite a bit. That being said, she is such a sweet
natured cat who is the queen of all things; she will pick
and choose her subjects. She is independent and
confident and wants attention on her always. She
doesnt really like to be cuddled, but LOVES being
showered in praise and adoration, and pats, LOTS OF
PATS!
Lady Penny is a great purr-er too!
A terrific article in the
Diamond Valley leader last
week.

Where are they now!

Hi Folks,
A couple of months ago my
partner and I adopted 10yr
old Linus (Lionel Richie) and
we just wanted to report in.
He is very loving and very
loved, his new brother and
sister are slowly warming to
him (the kind of slow that only
cats can do) but he's not too
fussed by them as long as he
has Adams lap to sit on. Adam
in currently trying to study
and Linus takes every, and I
mean every opportunity to
slug all over Adam and his
notes.
Thank you for bringing him
into our lives.
