) "ach unit shall be a complete en;ironmental control system factory wired@ tested
and specifically designed to pro;ide temperature@ humidity and dust control for
computer room or telecommunications installations. The precision air<
conditioners shall be either floor standing or ceiling hung type to suit drawings
and construction site limitation.
2,. *RAME AND CA(INET
a8 The unit shall ha;e aluminium profile structural frame for maBimum strength@
minimum weight and ease of access and assembly. Side and front panel shall be
easily opened and remo;ed with ?uarter<turn fasteners allowing full access to all
unit components. All panels shall include '2mm thicA fibreglass insulation with
matt surface for thermal protection and sound attenuation.
2,0 COI) SECTION
a8 The unit shall be designed for draw through or blow through type with large face
areas for low ;elocity to reduce turbulence and pro;ide greater efficiency in the
cooling and dehumidification process. The cooling coils shall be of seamless
copper tubes mechanically bonded to hydrophilic coated aluminum fins for cooling
performance enhancement as well as corrosion resistance and tested under water
to '599 APa with compressed air.

) The fan shall be centrifugal forward cur;e@ double width@ double inlet blower
configuration for ?uiet operation. ,eiling hung series shall ha;e direct dri;e +<
speed motors for ease of change of air<flow for optimum air<change and noise
le;el. The floor standing unit shall be a belt dri;e system. The blowers shall be
AM,A certified and factory certified dynamically balanced. The motor shall be
totally enclosed and mounted on an adjustable slide base.
2,6 COMPRESSORS
a8 The unit shall be a single or multiple scroll compressors type with a high ""%@ low
sound power le;el@ best sound ?uality due to low discharge pulse and high
reliability to meet application re?uirement. 1loor standing precision air<
conditioners with capacity eBceeding '2 C. shall ha;e dual compressors with
independent refrigerant circuit for maBimum load fleBibility. The hermetic motor
shall be suction gas<cooled with high starting tor?ue and the windings shall be
inherently protected from o;er<loading@ single phasing and under<;oltage
operation. The compressor shall ha;e a checA ;al;e which located directly abo;e
the fiBed scroll discharge port to pre;ent the compressor from running bacAwards
after the power has been switched off. The motor shall be fitted with a
thermostat which protects the compressor if a malfunction occurs.

a8 The filter chamber shall be an integral part of the system@ designed within the
frame and cabinet. The filters shall be disposable type +9D efficient 7based on
AS!%A" 2'<438 or "(- basd on "uropean standards.
2,2 E)ECTRICA) RE3EAT
a8 The unit shall ha;e multi<stage stainless steel finned tubular reheat coils capable
of pro;iding ample capacity to maintain room dry bulb conditions during a system
call for dehumidification. The reheat shall be installed on the air discharge side of
the cooling coil and shall ha;e three 7+8 stages to pro;ide more accurate
controlled response to the re?uirements of the computer room. The heating
elements shall be protected by thermal and air flow status safety switches. The
three stages of reheat shall ha;e a noticeable lowering of energy use and to be
operate on +<phase supply.

a8 "ach en;ironmental control units shall pro;ide with a steam generator humidifier.
The steam generating humidifier shall be of the self contained disposable type
with electronic control to pro;ides humidification downstream of the cooling coil.
The humidifier is designed to produce full rated steam output at an optimum low
water le;el.
2,+0 CONDENSING SECTION
a8 The casing of the condensing section shall be hea;y gauge steel panels@ insulated
with EF thicA B # E ib per cu. 1t mat faced line<acoustic fiberglass@ tightly fitted
with gasAet on rigid frame@ to guard against leaAs of conditioned air. All steel
parts shall be coated with o;en<baAed epoBy paint@ which gi;es eBcellent
finishing@ weatherability and salt<spray test of minimum 5-9 hours. /;en<baAed
epoBy paint shall pro;ide the best painting system@ which e;en can coat the
inaccessible places of part liAe the edges@ the joints or interior surface of hollow
sections.
b8 The condenser coils shall be of seamless copper tubes mechanically bonded to
aluminum fins for heat rejection performance enhancement as well as corrosion
resistance and tested under water to '599 APa with compressed air. 1ans shall be
propeller type direct dri;en by weatherproof electric induction motors. 1an motor
has class * insulation and splash<proof enclosure. The motor shall be suitable for
operation with -#2>+>29 electric supply with G#9D or #2D ;oltage fluctuation.

test of the microprocessor on system start<up. The microprocessor controller shall
be of #3 bits type with flash memory to stored customised application
programming data. All of these messages shall be spelled out in full "nglish
&anguage on the &"0 display. Multiple alarms shall be able to be displayed
se?uentially in order of occurrence.
