safe manner. We set clear expectations that working safely is a fundamental condition of employment. ZERO HARM Lynas Corporation is committed to excellence in safety and health. Lynas is committed to providing and maintaining a safe working environment and preventing injury, illness and impairment to the health of its employees, business partners and the community. We will continually strive to achieve our goal of Zero Harm. At Lynas, Zero Harm means nobody gets hurt. We will achieve our goal of Zero Harm by focusing on three key areas Caring Leadership, Safe Behaviour and the Continuous Improvement of Management Systems. This brochure is printed on Monza Recycled paper, which is an environmentally responsible paper manufactured with 55% recycled fibre. It is sourced from sustainable plantation wood and is elemental chlorine free (ECF). SAFE PLANT AND PROCESS TECHNOLOGY Lynas is building two processing plants to meet international safety and environmental standards: the Concentration Plant in Western Australia and the Lynas Advanced Materials Plant (LAMP) in Malaysia. These plants incorporate state-of-the-art technology based on extensive hazard and operability studies (HAZOPs) completed during the design phase. The HAZOP process helps identify any potential hazards and operability problems caused by deviations from the plant design intent and reflects our commitment to Zero Harm. OUR STRATEGY AND ACTIONS Our strategy focuses on three key areas Caring Leadership, Safe Behaviour and the Continuous Improvement of Management Systems. Caring Leadership clear accountability to lead safety and health performances; care and concern visibly demonstrated in every day actions; and safety behaviour and performance regularly reported, recognised and celebrated. Caring Leadership accepts accountability for Zero Harm and visibly demonstrates care and concern for employees, business partners and the community. Safe Behaviour all employees accountable, involved and engaged in the delivery of our Zero Harm goal; all employees walk and talk safety and challenge unsafe behaviour; and training and competency programmes support safe decision making. Safe Behaviour means working in a responsible and safe manner. We set clear expectations that working safely is a fundamental condition of employment. Continuous Improvement of Management Systems identify, assess and record all risks; actively build systems and processes to minimise identified risks; and continually affirm and improve compliance with systems, processes and legislative requirements. Continuous Improvement of Management Systems is the constant evaluation of our safety and health performance against our values, policy, standards and procedures. Opportunities for improvement are identified and implemented. OUR PROGRESS We will set targets, measure and monitor our journey to Zero Harm using the following key metrics: Compliance to Lynas standards and legislative requirements Percentage of employees involved in safety and health activities Incident reporting ratios Injury frequency rates Leadership Systems Behaviour Zero Harm
