Instructions for use

1. Application
The SKF LAGF 18 and LAGF 50 filler pumps are used to (re)fill hand
operated grease guns or other greasing tools fitted with a nipple
according to DIN 1283. The LAGF 18 and LAGF 50 can handle any
greases up to NLGI-class 2.

2. Description
The filler pump is intended for filling of loose grease into grease guns
such as SKF grease gun 1077600 or LAGH 400.
The grease is pumped from a 18 or 50 kg grease drum into the grease
gun by moving the handle up and down. The filler pump is fitted with a
filling nozzle that accepts a filling nipple according to DIN 1283.

5. Operating instructions

1. Remove the lid of the grease drum.

2. Place the follower plate on top of the grease in the drum. Push the
follower plate down until grease is visible through the centre opening
of the plate.

3. Fit the cover plate on top of the drum.

4. Tighten the three butterfly screws to secure the top of the drum.
Note: Assure that the cover plate is centred and securely fixed to the
drum.

5. Insert the piston rod of the pump mechanism through the cover plate
and the follower plate. Assure that the piston rod penetrates all the
way to the bottom of the drum.
6. Secure the piston rod to the cover plate by tightening the
clamp-screw.

6. Filling a grease gun or other greasing tools

1. Push the filling nipple of the grease gun into the filling nozzle of the
pump.
2. Do not retract the piston handle on the grease gun prior to filling
since this will risk to trap air inside the grease gun.
3. During filling assure that the filling nipple is pressed into the filling
nozzle. This will automatically open the shut-off valve fitted in the
filling nozzle.
4. Fill the greasing gun by operating the handle. The grease gun is full
when the handle on the filler pump has an increased resistance.
Note: The filler pump needs approximately 10 strokes to fill an empty
grease gun.
