Randy & Ronda’s News

Close to home news….
Greetings:
We would like to give you a quick update on where we have been and a glimpse of what God
is doing. We stay amazed at how God supplies our needs and opens doors that allow us to
serve. Thank you for your prayers and partnership with us.
In September we were excited to be part of the Global Impact Celebration at our home
church, Biltmore Baptist. The week was full of encouragement, training and fellowship with
the many Missionaries and Ministries that make a difference for Christ. The highlight was a
mission’s festival on the church grounds following the Sunday service. We are proud to be
members of a church that support missions locally and around the world.
Ronda and I spent Sept 28th thru Oct 14th working on an Incident Command Team from the
North American Mission Board. We assisted the Georgia Baptist Convention by coordinating
out of state disaster relief teams in response to the massive flooding which took 12 lives and
damaged hundreds of dwellings, leaving many people homeless. Some areas received up to 21
inches of rain which caused massive flooding, exceeding the 500 year flood plane projections.
We worked from a mobile command center at the West Metro Baptist Association in Lithia
Springs, GA. This was the first callout with the 40 ft command center that is fully self-
contained and powered by a 50 KW generator. Disaster Relief teams from GA, MS, TX, VA, SC,
AL, and TN responded to mud out the flooded homes. We were privileged to be a part of the
recovery efforts and proud of our teams that not only worked relentlessly, but also shared the
love of Christ. Their efforts proved to have a kingdom impact as 12 people prayed to receive
Christ as their personal Savior.
“But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you”
Mathew 6:33

Onto the South Pacific...

Please pray for us as we leave for American Samoa on Wednesday, Oct 21st, to help co-
ordinate disaster relief efforts for the North American Mission Board after a tsunami
destroyed hundreds of homes and took nearly 200 lives. We will be serving four weeks
assisting the Samoan people and sharing Christ. Please pray that God would lead us to
those who need spiritual food and that hearts would be open as we assist with physical
help. Pray that the efforts of Southern Baptist Disaster Relief would produce everlast-
ing kingdom results.
Love to All……….. Randy and Ronda
