->Huawei's CloudEdge has four parts, targeting LTE build-outs with the vEPC and

simplification of Gi-LAN by introducing service chaining; the introduction of MA

NO in NFV, including integration and migration with existing backend OSS/BSS; a
SDN controller for IP RAN backhaul; and a virtualized set-up box and virtual EPC
to address the home network environment.
->The ZTE Cloud UniCore Solution makes use of the latest network function virtua
lization (NFV) and software defined network (SDN) technologies.By decoupling sof
tware and hardware, it achieves the flexible scaling of network capacity and dep
loyment of network services. These virtualising technologies help operators to e
asily deal with complicated and changeable network operations, and are the inevi
table choice for future network developments.Chinese telecom equipment provider
ZTE has launched a virtualised Cloud NF (network function) system for multi-RAT
(radio access technology) networks and a Cloud UniCore System for the virtualise
d operation of EPC/IMS core network equipment.Cloud NF uses virtualisation techn
ology to separate hardware from software in the architecture, and integrate all
network element functions of the mobile network. It also applies the SDN concept
to separate the gateway forwarding function from the core network, improving fo
rwarding efficiency. ZTE used a common Intel architecture hardware platform to b
uild the entire system which the company said will enable the smooth transition
from legacy networks through to 5G networks.
->Ericsson's complete virtual Evolved Packet Core includes virtual Evolved Packe
t Gateway, virtual SGSN-MME, virtual Service-Aware Policy Controller and virtual
Service Aware Support Node.
->virtual EPC will tend to be deployed in parallel to the main production EPC an
d will focus on machine-to-machine (M2M) and customized enterprise services. The
se types of services can have specific traffic profiles that might benefit from
a particular EPC configuration (and specifically, a virtual P-GW configuration),
and they provide an opportunity for operators to experiment with a virtual core
without putting mass-market services at risk. There is also a substantial nearto medium-term opportunity for virtualization in what is sometimes called the SG
the services complex between the 3GPP-defined mobile core and external net
i-LAN
works. These functions, such as DPI, Web proxy, video optimization, content and
charging gateways, and firewalls, can be virtualized and mapped to software-conf
igured service chains to create a more efficient and programmable value-added se
rvices domain. Startup ConteXtream is one of the pioneers of this concept.
->Cisco Quantum vPC combines all packet core services for 4G, 3G, 2G, Wi-Fi, and s
mall cell networks into a single solution. It provides those network functions as
virtualized services, so you can scale capacity and introduce new services much
faster and more cost-effectively.
->NSN-The Liquid Net comprises Liquid Radio, Liquid Core and Liquid Transport.
Liquid Radio involves the de-coupling of the antenna and baseband elements of th
e radio access network (RAN) and having a centralized pool of baseband capacity
shared by multiple antennas. That sort of topography requires an optical connect
ion from the antenna to the baseband pool, some very sophisticated broadband man
agement capabilities.
Liquid Core, meanwhile, involves the housing of multiple network core elements - serving gateway, packet gateway, mobility management entity (MME), home locati
on registry (HLR), Policy and Charging Rules Function (PCRF), softswitches and o
ther IMS elements -- on shared AdvancedTCA (ATCA) hardware systems that need onl
y be added to as the overall demand for Service Provider Information Technology
(SPIT) capabilities increases. That contrasts with the current practice of havin
g fields of under-utilized servers for each function.
Liquid Transport is all about achieving the most efficient optical connections b
etween various points, with a heavy focus on intelligent control of capacity man
agement and wavelength provisioning.
->Alactel vEPC has vSGW,vPGW/VGGSN,vEMS,vMME/vSGSN,vPCRF,vRAN,vIMS
->NEC is also having an vEPC ,for data place they are also using intels data pl
ane development kit -data-plane function libraries and network controllers desig
ned to improve packet-processing speed by a factor of 10 on Intel hardware and r
each mobile bandwidth capacity as high as 80 million packets-per-second (Mpps) f

or each core of a Xeon processor, according to Intel.
