The following only applies to users of the QuickBooks for Accounting 2007 text who

have chosen to use the automatic payroll service offered by Intuit.

If the user follows the text instructions to use manual payroll and thus manually enters
payroll tax amounts, the following does NOT apply.

Effective 1/1/08 the CA disability tax (CASDI) rate was increased from .6% to .8%.
Since many student's and instructor's versions of QuickBooks 2007 will be updated
1/1/08 to reflect current CASDI rates, answers provided in the instructor's manual may
differ from student work completed in QuickBooks 2007 if performed after 1/1/08.
QuickBooks will not let you adjust that rate once it has been updated. Thus students
payroll answers will be different than those shown in the instructors manual for 2007.
This applies to all assignments and cases which take place in the state of
California: Central Coast Cellular, Santa Barbara Sailing, Forever Young, Ocean View
Flowers, Sarah Duncan, CPA, Pacific Brew, Sunset Spas, and Sports City.
