EMERGE members to become involved in
the United Way, the Chamber and or-
ganizations for which you have a passion to
serve. Joan Eby shared the wonderful things
being done to help their clients and how
their clients in turn serve our community at
large. EMERGE Lakeland is a partnership
of the United Way of Central Florida and
the Lakeland Area Chamber of Commerce.
On August 22nd, members and guests of
EMERGE Lakeland volunteered for a
Lakeland Habitat for Humanity project.
The group lent a helping hand and spent
the morning painting the exterior of a
Lakeland Habitat home. The participants
enjoyed the sun (it was hot), fellowship
and service. Volunteerism is one mission of
EMERGE. The EMERGE volunteer
committee is dedicated to exposing
members to needs within the community
and venues to serve others. If you are
interested in serving on the committee
please visit www.EmergeLakeland.com.
EMERGE members participated in the
First Friday event in Downtown Lakeland
on August 7. Participants “pounded the
pavement” to spread the word about going
green. Members distributed promotional
materials and a few "Go Green" t-shirts.
EMERGE is committed to utilizing
eco-friendly practices to help protect our
environment. Look for more EMERGE
green initiatives and events coming soon.
EMERGE promotes social interaction
