WA ALA ALIHI WASOHBIHI AJMAIN.

The word ulul albab is mentioned in al-Quran for sixteen times. All
the Muslim scholars of exegesis were almost unanimous in stating that the
word Ulul Albab used by al-Quran refers to those who possess the kind of
mature mind and comprehension that enable them to make accurate judgments.
The climax to it is that they will find the reality of truth that will
save their life in this world and Hereafter.Probably our community is not
friendly enough with the term or slogan incorporated in al-Quran. Or,
probably they are reminded of the word Ahmad Albab that was made
popular by P Ramlee in his film Tiga Abdul so much that it overwhelms
the term from the grand al-Quran.
Ladies and Gentleman
In order, to shape an individual of quality, we need to fulfill certain
criterias
First, is the course of teaching or education that comprehend the
objectives we desire.Teachers and leaders of all levels must be able to
convey and appreciate the reality of this endeavor of molding civilized
individuals.Teacher or educator whether they are parents, political
leaders or formal teachers whom are given the responsibility to educate.
They have to appreciate in practical the objective of shaping individuals
of quality and understand it as well as able to shape the nation or their
learners.
Second, is a surrounding condition that is stimulating so that all lessons
can be appreciated completely. This is because the environment plays an
important role in influencing the soul and attitude of a person.Our
surrounding has to be cleared from elements of stupidity,
khurafat(superstitious notion) and wicked examples instated as good.
Because of this, we need the roles of pious thinkers who outline the
directions for the community to head to a betterment.
It means that in this country, if this human capital of quality is to be
molded, we need to have a lucidness of both the course and direction of
our community. If not, the campaign to mold human capital will only be an
empty campaign. Even though schools and universities are added but the
result still does not bring about a community that is with principles,
peacefulness and harmonious. If we are keen to campaign for the generation
of Ulul Albab then every direction of leaders and teachers as well as our

environment must symbolize the maturity of thinking that can lead us to

find the reality of truth as required by the Lord.
Will we be successful in molding the generation of Ulul Albab if our
artistes are so occupied with spotting the fashions and following the
styles of Western artistes without any intellectual or religious border?
It seems like all types of weird and distorted styles are brought into our
society that possesses a distinctive religious and traditional background.
Also brought in are uncooked acts symbolizing shallowness or childishness
that are being copied blindly from the behavior of Western artistes. This
is like the action of one particular singer recently and the fans, who
were overly excited,copied and defended it.
Negative elements spread quickly in our community whereas most of us
possess educational background that has no value. Probably it is because
our learning system emphasizes more on memorizing facts and less on
shaping the ability to judge facts in a matured and principled way.
Consequently, many people only float in the sea of their comfortness.
Al-Quran in attributing the Ulul Albab group stated
Not equal are things that are bad and things that
though the abundance of the bad may dazzle thee; so
that understand; that (so) ye may prosper. (Surah

(translated as):
are good, even
fear Allah, O ye
al-Maidah: 100)

Our society still does not possess the elements associated with highly
mature minds to ensure that the thinking of our ummah will elevate.
Locally published magazines being sold widely everywhere, some are still
comparable to rubbish that they attempt to dump into the mind of our
generations.
Therefore, let us be of the Ulul Albab lot and not from the dumb lot.
