2.1. Input data.
Once we have the excel data file from Opera, we have to select the data we want
to introduce into the converter tool. You only have to copy the data from cell A2 to the
last one. Remember to avoid the first row that includes column names.
NOTE: If the sheet contains data already, please, go to section 2.6.

Now you can paste the data into the Input data sheet in the Tool. For this you
have to do it at cell A2 using the following method:

2.2. Updating the Pivot Table.

Finally, on Conversion Result sheet you have to update the pivot table. For that
you need to click in one cell of the table and use ALT+F5, or you can use the button
Refresh on the Options list in the PivotTable Tools.

2.3. Working with the pivot table.

Once we have the pivot table updated we will have a dynamic table with the
following structure:

1. There is an indicator of the number of records introduced on the Input data

sheet. It would be advisable to check the number of registrations with the
row data number of the query.
2. Each field has its own pull-down menu where you can select the data in
which you are interested the most, and you want to analyze.

To obtain more information you can select the Pivot Table Field list from the
pivot table, which will open a menu on the left where you can choose the rest of the
variables extracted on the query, such as ADR, bed nights, intermediaries, etc.

15

For adding any of those fields, you just have to drag it to one of the four areas
below. If you take a look of the distribution of those four areas you can have an idea of
how the new field will be open.

16

2.4. Analyzing specific data:

The most likely thing will be that your hotel has an option named No segment on
the Segment pull-down menu. There are the rates extracted on the query that doesnt
match with any new segment. To find out which are the number behind, just click twice
on the number and a new sheet will be open:

This is how it looks the new sheet opened with the data corresponding to the
number you want to analyze.

2.5. Saving the monthly data.

Once we have all the month data translated to the New Segmentation
2015, it would be advisable to save a copy. For that, you only need to save a
copy on your computer by renaming the file:

Segmentation 2015 Translation Tool SIHOT HOTEL_MONTH.xls

2.6. How to delete data to restart the Tool.

In case you want to delete the data you only have to delete ALL data from INPUT
DATA sheet, from column A to N, avoiding the first row which include the column
names:
