(a) browse : If you ~ in a shop, you look at things in a fairly casual


way.
If you ~ through a book, you look through it in a fairly casual way.

(c) look up : If you ~ a fact or a piece of information, you find it out by
looking in something such as a reference book or a list. e.g. look

it in order to find something out. 조회하다. 참조하다.
e.g. He referred briefly to his notebook.

(e) read from cover to cover : read something from the beginning to
the end.

dip into : If you ~ a book, you have a brief look at it without


reading or studying it seriously. e.g. a chance to dip into a wide selection of
Tibetan Buddism. (물에 잠깐 담갔다 꺼내다.) 무엇을 꺼내려고 손 따위를 디밀
다.

(f) wade through : ~ a dull book. 재미없는 책을 참고 읽어나가다.

(g) peruse : read a letter, article, or document (formal word) 정독하다.

(h) skim

(i) flip though : quickly turn over pages in order to find a particular one
or to get an idea of contents. e.g. flip through a magazine 훌훌넘기며보다

(j) scan : look through sth quickly in order to find important of


interesting information
