Description: Female Red-spotted Purple Butterfly are slightly larger than male. The
color of the butterfly is usually blackish-blue wings with postmedian white bands across
the wings. Some have row of red submarginal spots while others have white. The
underside of the wings are blue and broad white postmedian band. Usually the
wingspan of these butterfly species is 60-70 millimeters.

Description: Chequered Skipper Butterflies have wingspan of 29-31 millimeter. The
upperside of the wings are dark brown with orange scales at the base of the wings.
There are also golden spots present in the wings. The underside of the wings is similar
to the upperside. The forewings have orange with dark spots and the hindwings are
russet with cream spots edged with cream spots. Females are slightly larger than
males.

male is chocolate brown with small blue and yellow markings. It has a noticeable
waisted appearence. The female has small yellow markings and lacks the males waist.
