Dribbling Introduction:
Skill Cues:

Push the ball gently with the

inside or outside of your foot, not your
toe

Keep the ball close to your

body not far out in front out you.
Use both feet
*When the whistle blows I would like
you trap the ball. How do you trap the
ball? By passing your foot on top of the
ball.
Practice: Ms. Brittany will have the
students find their partner they were
assigned to in 10 seconds.
Directions:
Each partner pair will line up
behind an orange cone.
One partner at a time they will
dribble to the orange cone out
in front of them.
Students are to go around the
cone and dribble back to their
partner
The next partner will go
Students will do this for 5
minutes.

Practice:
Each student will now find
their own personal space
within the 4 orange cones.
Each student will practice
dribble around avoiding other
students in the class, until the
whistle blows.
There will also be random
cones set up throughout the
area for the students to dribble
around.
Remind the students that if a
student is at the cone to go to

another one

Practice: (if time)

Have students line up across
the white line one by one. Have
one squad demonstrate for you.
We are going to play red light,
green light. When I say green
light you dribble towards the
other side of the field. When I
say red light you trap the ball
and stop where you are, until I
say green light again. Students
have three seconds to trap the
ball or have to go back to the
beginning.
Transition: Students will leave the
soccer balls on the field and walk over
to the door to go inside. Unless it is
before recess. Then they will collect
them and bring inside. Ms. Brittany
will give the students instructions that
they are to get a drink and line up on
the red line quietly before going inside.
