SECOND ANNUAL CHICAGO ALS FUNDRAISING FESTIVAL:
ALS Association hosts country music festival featuring Tim McGraw to raise
money for ALS fighters in Chicago
CHICAGO, Ill. (Nov. 16, 2014) Dancing to live country music artists, food and
family fun make for a great weekend. The ALS Association invites you and your
family to its Second Annual Fundraising Festival on Northerly Island in Chicago.
The festival will take place the first weekend of June 2015. In its first year, the
festival raised over $60,000 for victims of ALS and their families right here in
Chicago. This year, ALS Association is looking to raise 25% more. Leah
Vasquez, daughter of an ALS Victim, will sponsor this years festival.
I watched what ALS did to my father, and I wouldnt want anyone or any family
to experience what I did. I am scared that I one day will also have ALS. It is a
terrible disease. That is why I am helping to sponsor this festival, stated
Vasquez in response to how important this festival is to her.
ALS Associations mission is to end ALS by raising awareness and money for
both victims and research. Barbara Newhouse, President of ALS Association,
believes in the festivals successful contribution to ALS awareness.
We are dedicated to ending ALS. Together we can provide support for people
with ALS and their loved ones, said Newhouse, The ALS association had made
great progress in funding research, but we are not there yet. We are encouraging
everyone in the community to get involved by attending the festival.
