4 INTRODUCTION
This document provides a systematic training manual to the Panda-Plast Vehicle
Tracking service. It will show the workflow in the Panda-Plast application and will
help the users to understand how the system will be used.
This Document, as a training document and a user manual will walk the user
through different screens and will complement the tools and services offered in
the Panda-Plast Vehicle Tracking Service application. It will ensure that the
users will get up to speed quickly with the application and will help them
understand how to use our application for planning their everyday work.

5 GETTING STARTED
5.1 LOGGING INTO THE APPLICATION
On startup, a login page displays in which the user enters the username and
password for authentication and authorization purposes.

(1) Right Panel: This is the right panel that contains the Dashboard and the
Nokia Nearby Statistics tabs.
o The Dashboard will display the stops count for all vehicles in the
system for the last 5 minutes.
o The Nokia Nearby Statistics tab will display all of Nokia data within a
certain radius.
(2) Left Panel: This is the left panel that contains the following:
o Layer Manager: From here, you can view your mapped branches.
o Layer Search: From here, you can search for your mapped
branches as well as your vehicles.
o Online Tracking: From here, you can activate/deactivate the
online tracking mode
o Offline Tracking: From here, you can load the offline-tracking
mode.
o Reports: From here, you can access the system reports.
o Legend: From here, you can access the legend.
o Jurisdiction: From here, you can access the Jurisdiction.
(3) Data Table: This is where all the valuable information of the system will
be presented. Online Tracking, Online Tracking Tail, PandaPlast branches, Offline
Track, Stops Report, Over speed Report, Nokia Nearby Results, Vehicles Passed
By, and the search tab will be accessed from here.
(4) Navigation Bar: This is the navigation bar that helps the user in the
navigation of the map.
(5) Nokia Landmarks: These are the Nokia landmarks.

Layer Manager: The layer manager tab allows the user to view PandaPlast branches.
Layer Search: The layer search tab allows the user to search for mapped
branches as well as system vehicles.
Online Tracking: To start or stop the real time online tracking of vehicles.
Jurisdiction: To set and view system jurisdictions for vehicles. From here
you can set the boundaries for your vehicles and track whether vehicles
are operating inside their assigned jurisdictions or not.

Vehicles Passed By
In addition, the user can select a specific area to view the vehicles that passed
by. This is a perfect tool in case there is a complaint. The user can specify the
time and the location from this tool and view all the vehicles that passed in the
specified area and within the time frame selected.
To activate this feature:
o Select the From date (4).
o Select the To date (5).
o Click on the Pick Location button.
o Click on the map to pick the location.
o Click on Submit button.

6.5 REPORTS
The user can generate reports by clicking on the reports tab (1). From here,
the user can access and view the system reports such as the online report,
maximum over speed report, stops report, and the overspeed report.
To activate this feature:
o Click to expand the reports drop down (2).
o Select a report.
o Click on the Run button.

6.6 JURISDICTION
The user can create jurisdictions for the vehicles in the system and monitor
whether the vehicles are inside or outside the created jurisdiction. From
here, the user can set the boundaries for the vehicles and track whether
vehicles are operating inside their assigned jurisdictions or not.

The user can view the created jurisdiction and their respected vehicles by
selecting the Load Saved Jurisdiction option.

After creating jurisdictions and assigning the vehicles, the user can track the
status in the online tracking tab under the Jurisdiction Status column.

6.7 LEGEND
The user can access the informative Legend (the 6th icon) which gives
valuable information about the icons drawn on the map:
o The online vehicles: the number of online vehicles being monitored in
real time mode.
o Panda-Plast branches: the number of Panda-Plast branches mapped.
o Vehicle direction: the direction in which the online vehicles are
heading in.
o Stop Tracking: this icon appears when a vehicle is in stop mode.
o Over-speed: this icon appears when a vehicle violates the over-speed
rule.
o Jurisdiction: these icons represent whether a vehicle is inside/outside
jurisdiction or whether the jurisdiction has not been set yet.
o Vehicle status: this denotes the status of the vehicle.

7 RIGHT PANEL
7.1 DASHBOARD
From the right panel, the user can access the informative Dashboard which
will give the stops count that each vehicle did in the past 5 minutes.
To access this feature:
o Click on the first tab in the right panel.
o Mouse over the pie chart to view the vehicle id and its
corresponding stops number.

8 MAP FUNCTIONALITIES
8.1 VICINITY
The user can right click anywhere on the map and make use of the vicinity
option by clicking on the Vehicles Passed Within 1 hr. All the vehicles that
passed within a radius of 600m and within one hour will be displayed.

NOTE: To view vehicles that passed in a certain place and not to bound the time to one
hour, the user can pick up the location and specify the start and end dates freely from the
Offline Tracking tab in the left panel. Please refer to section 6.4 Offline Tracking for further
details.

Vehicle Info Bubble: Each vehicle, when clicked on its icon, displays an
informative information
bubble with all the vehicle
important information. Below
is a description of this
information:
o Device Id: this
denotes the unique id
that each GPS unit
holds.
o Courier: this denotes
the name of the
driver.
o M: this denotes the
mobile number of the
driver.
o Plate: this denotes
the plate number of
the vehicle.
o Type: this denotes the
type of the vehicle.
o Branch: this denotes to which branch the vehicle belongs.
o Address: this denotes the latest address the vehicle was at.
o Jurisdiction Status: this denotes whether the vehicle is inside or
outside the jurisdiction appointed.
o Speed: this denotes the speed of the vehicle.
o Heading: this denotes in which heading the vehicle is going.
o NB Stats: this denotes the number of satellites that the GPS device
is getting its reading from.
o Msg Flags: this denotes the type of the message incoming from
the GPS unit.
o Date Time: this denotes the date and time of the last GPS reading.

9 TABULAR INFORMATION
The tabular information is where all of the information are grouped and can be
viewed and exported from the system. Below are the detailed description of the
different tabs displayed:
Zoom To: This will zoom the map view to include all the available
vehicles online.
Export To Excel: This will extract all the table into Excel.
Stop Timer: This will stop the timer of the table which refreshes each ten
seconds to fetch the latest address.

along with its tails from the map.

Add New Record: This will allow the user to add new branches to the
map. Please find below how to add a new branch.

10 NAVIGATION BAR
The user can make use of the navigation bar to have more control on the
map being viewed. Below is a detailed description of all the available icons
from left to right:
o Previous/Next: Toggle between these icons to move back and forth
between your latest map views.
o Full Extent: Zoom out to cover all of Lebanons map by simply clicking
on this icon.
o Zoom In/ Zoom Out: Use these icons to zoom in and out into the
map.
o Map Types: Select the map type that better suits you, from terrain, to
map, to satellite imagery.
o Draw Polygon: Free hand drawing tool that allows you to draw
polygons.
o Find My Location: Know your location anytime anywhere simply by
clicking on this icon.
o Clear: The map is too crowded with data? use this icon to clear your
map and start fresh.

11 NOKIA LANDMARKS
The application offers a set of Nokia Landmarks that can help the user in exploring
what is around. From accommodation, landmark attractions, banks & ATMs, health
care facilities, police/emergency, religious places, to sights and museums, just click
on any one of the above and view them on map.

12 PRINT
The user can at any time print the current view simply by clicking on the print icon
in the up right corner of the solution. The print window will open and the user
can print and use the screen shot.

13 MEASURE
The user can at any time measure the distance between any two points simply by
clicking on the measure icon
