Prerequisites:
Math 2403, Math 2413, or Math 24X3; ME 2202 or AE 2202; ECE 3710; ME 2016, CEE 2010, or CHBE 2120.
Objectives:
Develop mathematical models of dynamic systems that include mechanical, electrical, hydraulic,
pneumatic, and/or thermal components. Analyze such systems using linearization, time and frequency
response, and stability techniques. Design and analyze linear feedback control systems using time and
frequency domain techniques.

Computer Usage:
MATLAB will be used as a supplementary software program for this course. A copy can be
purchased at the campus bookstore.
Homework
Homework problems will be assigned during the class, and they will be collected on the due date.
While you may work and consult with others, the work you submit must be entirely your own. You
should also submit your homework problems in a clean and organized manner. Please, remember to
write your name on it.
Exams
All exams are closed book and notes unless otherwise specified. You can bring a calculator and one
8.5 x 11 handwritten sheet (no photocopies, etc.) to each exam. You will be provided tables of
selected Laplace transforms with each exam. There are no make-up exams. A reasonable and
verifiable excuse prior to the exam is necessary to avoid a zero grade.
Website
You are encouraged to check the class website continuously for assignments, announcements, and
other issues related to this class.
Academic Honesty
The Student Conduct Code is described in the current Georgia Tech General Catalog. All items in the
Honor Code under the topic Academic Misconduct apply to this class. In particular, but not limited to,
the following items are breaches of academic honesty:
Submission of homework that is copied from another student.
Viewing or copying from another students paper during an exam.
Alteration of graded tests submitted for regarding.
Academic misconduct is reported to the Vice President for Student Affairs as described in the General
Catalog. Findings of academic misconduct results in zero grades plus other remedies as specified by
the Vice President for Student Affairs.
Help
To maximize learning, students are expected to:
Come to class prepared.
Ask questions in class. If you do not understand something, probably others dont either.
Answer questions in class. You will not be ridiculed for an incorrect answer.
When seeking help, please bring all your work and identify where you think the difficulty lies.
This will allow us to more readily suggest ways to work effectively.
Work neatly.
Work symbolically first and plug in numbers at the end. This will help you debug your work.
