First of all thank you very much for your support in promoting it to find the best and the brightest in the Bangsamoro. I would to share with you some changes to the draft used to promote the scholarships in Bangsamoro. These changes reflect the fact that this is a global scheme. While we have exceptionally been able to carve out a special element for Bangsamoro, we are still obliged to keep to certain norms in the selection process. Chevening Scholarships are the UK governments global scholarship programme that aims to provide equal opportunity for qualified leaders from around the world to study at world-class universities in the UK. As such, the application process Chevening scholarship must always be inclusive. As for the selection of the scholars, a standard operating procedure is applied to every post around the world. For the 2015 Chevening programme, applications open on 1 August 2014. Applicants will need to fill up an online application form on www.chevening.org and submit before the deadline on 15 November 2014. Applications which pass the sifting process are reviewed again by the Chevening Secretariats Reading Committee and then passed on to the Chevening team at the British Embassy for shortlisting. From the shortlist, we will identify potential applicants for interview. The interview panel is composed of: 1st Secretary & Head of Political & Economic Section, 2nd Secretary for Bilateral & Strategic Communications, Chevening Officer and a Chevening Alumna/Alumnus. We also invite our private sector partners to join the panel to help us select potential scholars (ie For applicants interested to study Health Policy, we invite a representative from GlaxoSmithKline Philippines Inc.).
