#B Written Paper
Start by stating what they are going to learn today Good morning class my
name is Mrs._ . Today we are going to learn how to compare two numbers and
use symbols to tell if they are greater than, less than, or equal to one
another. Second, go over the names of each symbol (Mr. and Mrs. Pac-man
mouths) and how they are read. In addition, explain that the open mouth
always points to the larger number. As for less than symbol, the back part of
the symbol points to the smaller number. Also, explain that when both sides
equal we use the equals sign.
Third, demonstrate how to read the equation and how to use the symbols.
For example, on the place mat (house), show the students that there are 2
pieces of fruit on the house and 1 piece of fruit on the second house then
put the numeral number label underneath of each house.
