Corporate employee and project

management System

1. INTRODUCTION
Oasis 2.0 is a planning and tracking system solution that simplifies
and automates various manual operations developed to assist large
companies like Wipro Technologies to maintain consistent information
of the employees working for Wipro. The main objective is to provide a
centralized database that have strong security and should have
archiving database integrated into it.
The application is having two phases. One of them is to have an
integrated database of all the employees working for an organization
and generating dynamic reports for the analysis or to keep track the
status of the company.
The application has to deal with the following sections:
Employee
Project
Practice
Domain
Account
PAS
Projection
The application should have search facility, which will help in
searching and sorting employee details according to the requirements
posed by the technical manager or service delivery manager provided
without any duplicated results.

1.1 Objective of the System


Oasis 2.0 is nothing but a business solution that simplifies and
automates various manual operations through smart search facility,
centralized database. This system involves external entities, internal
entities and there is dynamic flow between them.
Wipro technologies support 53000 plus employees, 43 centers of
excellence and centers of research organizations which spreads all
over the world, so in order to keep track of the details of employers are
a big concern. There are many resources working in various projects
both onsite and offshore and assigning these resources to the projects
are becoming more tedious to manage. The solution to this work is
oasis 2.0, which provides an interface to find the appropriate
employees for the project i.e., finding the right men for the right job.
There are many entities to which an employee working for Wipro.
Each employee has a unique id called employee id and there are many
domains on which Wipro is working i.e., banking, financial, business
solutions, and healthcare etc. and each sector is having one domain id
and the projects belonging the respective domains is having a unique
project id, PAS which allocates resources to the projects and recruits
people when resources are not available internally.
Oasis 2.0 is an internal project for Wipro technologies i.e., for
having the better utilizations of its resources, and maintaining the
company by generating reports over a period of time, the reports are
generated depending on various factors and status of the employers.
Usually the managers are the end users of this systemic order to

allocate the employers to the project. Oasis 2.0 helps out in listing the
details of the employees who are in free pool and having the eligibility
criteria for working out the given projects. The eligibility can be any set
of requirements.

In the above diagram specified all the data regarding the visa,
operational, location, account details regarding the employee also
his personnel details are stored. In a pattern where no relations are

maintained so in order to know the utilization, presently working


status it is very tedious for one to analyze presently it is done by
subashkhars weekly report. This application automates all the
manual work.
Oasis 2.0 integrates all the islands of data, which is not having
any relation with another dataset, so that resourceful reports can be
generated to take any decision with in fraction of seconds.

1.3 Advantages

Oasis 2.0 provides an interface for integrating all the islands of


data units, which doesnt have relation between them.
It provides an automated system of all the employees important
details regarding the domain, practice, and project. Also personal
and work status information is also being automated.
It helps in developing the projects already available, which meets
the present market and customer requirements.
People Allocation System in oasis 2.0 helps in recruitment of new
employers and assignment of employees into the projects.
This application plays a vital role in reporting the accurate data
to the team manager and service delivery manager and also
some other vertical levels.
It avoids all the manual operations and provides tracking system
to forecast the future operations to take decisions within time
limit.

Utilization of the available resources can be increased rapidly by


using this application, oasis 2.0 in a resourceful manner.

2. DESIGN OF THE SYSTEM


2.1 Hardware and software requirements
Software requirement specification (SRS) is the starting point of
the s/w developing activity, as system grows more complex it becomes
evident that the goal of the entire system cannot be easily
comprehended. Hence the need for the requirements phase arose.
The s/w project is initiated by the client needs. The SRS is the
means of translating the ideas of the minds of the clients (the input)
into a formal document (the output of the requirement phase).
The SRS phase consists of two basic activities:
Problem Requirement Analysis
Requirement Specification

Problem requirement analysis: The process is order and more


nebulous of the two, deals with understanding the problem, the goal is
to fulfill the constraints posed by the client.
Requirement specification: Here the focus is on specifying what has
been found in the process of analysis such as representation,
specification languages and tools and also checking the specification
are addressed during the activity. The requirement phase terminates
with the production of the validate SRS document, producing the SRS
document is the basic goal of this phase.
Role of s/w requirement specification (SRS): The purpose of the
s/w requirement specification is to reduce the communication gap
between the clients and the developers.
S/w requirement specification is the medium through which the client
and users needs are accurately specified. It forms the basis of s/w
development.

Account: The account is a tag which is attached to an employee,


when an employee is working billable to One project and non-billable
to some other projects, One tag regarding each project is given and for
an employee having

0(zero) tags, he is said to be at free pool. For

each account again, the respective visa, band, and operational


practice. These details provide summarized information of each
account associated with an employee. The web pages are logically
linked

to

the

backend

by

using

the

tables

Project: As Wipro technologies support different types of projects,


each project under One Domain is given a unique identification. When
the project ID is given all the details such as start date, expected end
date, whether it is auditable and the manager assigned to the project
can be accessed. The tables from which the actual data is being linked
WP_PROJECT, WP_ACCOUNT, WP_DOMAIN, and WP_PRACTICE

Domain: As there are many domains such as banking, financial,


business solutions, retail, health careless. Each domain is again given a
particular ID. Many other details like domain name, domain code
whether the project is running on this domain is given by the field is
active. The tables involved in domain are WP_DOMAIN, WP_PROJECT,
and WP_ACCOUNT.
