Course Software Engineering (3 semester hours) Introduction to software life


Description cycle models. Software requirements engineering, formal
(from the specification and validation. Techniques for software design and
catalog): testing. Cost estimation models. Issues in software quality assurance
and software maintenance.

Prerequisite: CS 2336 or CS 3333, and CS 2305. (Same as CS 3354) (3-0)

Course Grading: The final grade is calculated as follows:

10% Preparation test


50% Homework
40% Final

Incomplete The UTD undergraduate catalog contains the requirements and process to
status: apply for a grade of incomplete. Some valid reasons for an incomplete
include:
• Missing the final exam due to illness or death in the family
• Missing the final exam due to a job or school related business trip

Please note these cases MUST be verified in writing.

Add/Drop: The UTD undergraduate catalog contains the registration deadlines


for adding and dropping courses. Each student is responsible for
following UTD’s registration policy and schedule.

Exam Dates: Preparation Exam Monday January 24, in class


Final Exam As scheduled by The University in the final
exam week

Attendance: Attendance is expected. In the event of missing a lecture, the student is


responsible for promptly obtaining any handouts, announcements,
assignments, reading material, etc. covered in the lecture.

Required Reading: Required reading will be assigned from the text.

Additional Students are required to work in groups with 2-4 members for the
Notes: homework assignments. Submissions by individuals will not be accepted.

The preparation exam and the final exam are written individually.
