Applications for MEKO

Paint & coating

Used as antiskinning agent ; prevents skinning in alkyd based systems.

Urethane blocking agent to block urethanes in coating applications
which include powder coatings, automotive coatings, coatings on
plastic, varnish, textiles and general industrial metal.

Water treatment

Oxygen scavenger in boiler water treatment.

Specialty oximes - used to produce oxime derivatives for other industrial applications.

Intermediates

Used in the preparation of O-alkyl and O-acyl oximes, nitrones, amides,

carbamates, O-silyl compounds and hterocyclic systems.

Has high solvent power and compatibility with a variety of paints and varnishes.

Has high potency and small addition is adequate to eliminate skinning.

Does not interfere with other ingredients of paints and varnishes.

Neither affects the rheological properties nor the availability of the resultant film.

Retards loss of dry paints during storage.

Neutral and does not cause any chemical reaction with the paint or varnish.

Completely volatile and does not leave residue or odour in the paint film.

Does not produce any deleterious effects when used in normal dosage.

Provides maximum antiskinning activity

Does not affect the drying time in which it is used as suggested.

Does not cause pigment vehicle separation.

Has only negligible effect on the cost of the finished coating.
