Q.2 (a) Messages flow into, through, and out of business organisations in a variety of ways.
(i) Differentiate between internal communication and external communication.
(ii) Discuss in detail the formal communication network and informal communication
network of an organisation. (iii) Draw an organisational structure of formal
communication network organisation.

(b) Unethical communication may include falsehoods and misleading information. Discuss
few examples of unethical communication.

Q.3 (a) Business communication is governed by a wide variety of laws designed to ensure
accurate, complete messages. Discuss.

(b) M/s Hitech International is an authorized sole distributor of Sony televisions, LCDs and
LEDs in Karachi. Mr. Ali is the finance manager of the company. One of the dealers has
not made the payments against the supply of TVs, LCDs, LEDs for the last two months.
Write a collection letter for recovery of dues from the buyer.
Terms of payment: 15 days (Assume other necessary details).

Q.4 (a) Choosing the right medium for each message is a question of balancing your needs with
your audiences needs. Discuss the factors to consider when choosing a media for
conveying messages.

(b) Assume yourself as secretary of a renowned club situated at a posh locality of the city.
Draft a letter to be sent to a large number of members to attend the get together
ceremony followed by dinner and musical night. Give clear information in the letter about

Q.6 (a) Given the importance of visuals in todays business environment, visual literacy has
become a key business skill. Identify the principles which help in becoming an effective
visual communicator.

(b) You have been working as Co-ordinator in a renowned school, that is about to be
temporarily closed for ten days due to recent cold weather. Draft a circular to notify the
parents about this closure. (Reason for notification: cold weather)

Assume yourself as Marketing Manager of a leading manufacturer M/s PakTech


Business International. Your core product is denim jeans which are also exported to
various countries. The Managing Director of the company is worried about continuous
short-fall of orders received locally or from foreign clients. He has asked you to prepare
a report on continuous decline of sales.
Required:

You are required to submit a formal report to the Managing Director giving reasons for
the short-fall of sales for last two years. Your report should include current exchange
rate, improper use of marketing techniques and technology, low budget for marketing,
employees motivation, current political situation etc. (You may use other details relevant
to the issue)
