Upgrade of the
maintenance book

Presentation of the maintenance

book
Description of the maintenance book
The maintenance book is composed of several parts:
Machine user:
Used to record accurate information on the user and the dealership that services the
machine.
Machine characteristics:
The maintenance book contains a table in which the machine characteristics are
entered. This facilitates both the identification of the different components and the
maintenance of the machine.
General terms of warranty:
Reminder of MANITOUs general terms of warranty and exclusions.

Commissioning:
This part of the maintenance book details the machines commissioning procedure.
You will also find three copies of commissioning certificates:
- One copy to return preferably to the subsidiary or to MANITOU, ANCENIS. Note
that for the moment the service book only mentions Manitou Ancenis. This will be
changed.
- One copy to be kept by the dealer
- One copy to be kept by the customer.
First mandatory service visit after 500 hours or 6 months:
Detailed explanation of the process to follow for the first mandatory service visit of the
machine. In this part of the maintenance book you will find two service certificates:
- One copy to be kept by the dealer
- One copy to be kept by the customer.

Evolution in the frequency of mandatory service visits:

The first mandatory service visit after 50 hours or 3 months is henceforth changed
to 500 hours or 6 months for all machines, except those equipped with a KUBOTA
engine which have their first service visit after 50 hours.
3

Maintenance:
Several pages of the maintenance book are reserved for noting all the maintenance
operations carried out on the machine.
General periodic maintenance operations:
One section of the maintenance book is reserved for noting mandatory service visits.
This type of service visit is not available in all countries. If you are not concerned by
these service visits, you can remove the pages not needed.

The purpose of the maintenance book:

The maintenance book is used to:
- Monitor each machine individually.
- Provide a single document for the life of the machine, accessible to both the end user
and dealer. The maintenance book includes the "commissioning report" (previous
reference 581810) and the "mandatory service report" (previous reference 581808).
- Avoid redundancy with other documents.

Upgrade of other documents.

Introducing the new maintenance book across the MANITOU network
involves upgrading other documents:
- Instruction manuals which include the new frequencies of mandatory service visits.
- The instruction manuals will repeat the inspection checklist from the old
commissioning system. While waiting for these manuals to be modified, this checklist
is given in the appendix of this TI sheet, available on Manitec.
-The new warranty handbook includes the service book and its applications.
